Hey Chris...Huron (Huron-Wendat) are a First Nations People of Canada in the Ontario and Quebec Region, historically they were allies of the French Colonizers. A Good review of a well-designed knife at a decent price, I am sure folks will tune this knife up to get the best out of it.

Cool vid ... nice knife. There's also the larger Condor 'Large Huron Knife' which also has brass wire wrap on the other end of the handle (5.75in blade, 10.75 length vs 4.25" blade and 8.5 length of the Huron).

Great review, thanks. BTW the Huron were an Aboriginal nation occupying Southern Ontario. They aligned with the French (who were the first Europeans there) mostly and the Brits did not like them and hired other Aboriginal nations to kill them off. No relation to Navajoes.

Just an FYI. The Huron (aka the Wyandot), were a tribe of Iroquoian Native Americans/First Nations people that lived on the shore of Lake Huron in western NY and eastern Ontario. I am pretty sure the knife design was named after them. It looks like a smaller version of the knife used by Wes Studi's character Magua who was a Huron war captain in Last of the Mohicans.

Huron native people live north of lake Ontario to Georgian Bay And To the East Along the St. Lawrence into Québec . The primary function of the knife would be to Process game Skinning Beavers Processing Deer And Fish . Most original depictions of the Huron Show them with a tomahawk , They Traded extensively with the French and British Hudson bay company so Hudson bay company often trade tomahawks and knives for Beaver pelts. So in reality the knife would most likely be Hudson bay English or French design . Interestingly this type of knife was often worn by them around the neck .

Emory Bragg my humble advice wld be to contact makers thru Instagram. The big, well known makers with long waiting lists probably not worth bothering with but look for smaller makers that u like their work on Instagram, shoot them email. lotta business like this done thru instagram. European makers also worth trying if no luck in U.S. And knife forums of course.

definitely an awesome secondary knife. if a person needs to do all the jobs that you did with that knife, that person would have a different knife. A big beater it is not. but you put it through its paces. it's too small for an EDC knife but too small to be a primary bushcraft knife. I think it fits in the small jobs around campsite knives

John Godwin I did return Condor 1075 like block buster movies. But their new 1095 knives although a little over prices meaning they can't compete with Esee and Tops 1095 knives. With that said I have Matt Graham's Primitive mountain knife and his 1075 "Canyon carver" Both are doing what they was made to do just fine. Carving and ez honing perfect. Now would I pick those over o1 3v. For Vancouver island. Hell no!!! For a day hike to play close to the house and have just my belt to sharpen it??? Hell yeas!!!
