Ive been am athlete my whole life, martial arts , bodybuilding, and powerlifting, I was humbled BIG TIME doing yoga. That was years ago, and afterwards I added yoga and some other aspects of yoga type athletics into my routine , never to be the best at it, but to fill the gaps in my fitness level and maintain movement and flexibly for longevity into my life. Now at 45, retired from the stage, coaching martial arts rather then competition, I am still able to do everything I alwats have been due to that lesson in humility. Athletes often fail to understand how dangerous being one dimensional can be to the body, the gaps in joint, muscle, organ, and tie ins can be career ending and even worse in the long run. Keeping the spine, joints, and heart and lungs healthy should be first , idc how built you are, how strong or explosive, maintaining flexibility and health often take a backseat or are forgotten in fair of being the best , but we can only be the best for a small period of time, age catches up and injuries pile up, so take care of yourselfs, learn something like this, yoga , or whatever makes you interested, once a week is better then never, and even translates into being better at what your doing.

I had to check a pt because my wrists, forearm and hands were all messed up, was tendonitis, then began hitting gym afterwards. Now I'm at 3 or so months working out consistently and I can only max out at 5 pull ups at once. My grip tho, is almost guaranteed to die afterwards, on the other hand pole dancers are straight up performing smooth movements while gripping vertical poles and maintaining so much coordination. Never came to think about pole dancing and how demanding it must be, but now that I get to think about it, this takes a lot of work and these people have so much grip. Props to whoever had the patience and endurance to develop such skills.

Had no clue that pole dancing was so hard. Tremendous athleticism.

Hi!! My friend got me to try pole fitness at her studio in England, while I was on holidays there in October. I returned to Australia in November and got started at my local pole studio. Since I did that, my mental health has improved my confidence has improved, I’m much more emotionally stable. Pretty much everything in my life improved because I tried something as a man I’m not supposed to, I got welcomed wholeheartedly, and since then I’ve taken up boxing, hiit cycle training, strength circuits while maintaining my original weights regime. I’ve also grown immeasurably more confident in approaching women. Basically pole fitness has done wonders for me. I can’t recommend it enough.

In my personal experience training wise. I’m vastly more powerful than all the girls in my class meaning I had no issues getting inverted right from our first attempt. Most of the girls needed spotting and or assistance doing it. But several of the girls are stronger than me based on the fact they can do holds that I can not sustain. So relatively to our individual bodies. I’m far more physically powerful and explosive. But the girls are stronger and last longer doing the moves.

@@Divi2806 there’s obviously a stigma around pole dancing, so they’re just surprised that patty would do something like it

As someone who did calisthenics for some time i can imagine how hard the pole must hit your core. Solid work tho you really focused on doing the exercises as clean as possible👍🏻🔥

Wow that reminder in the difference in muscle mass between you and Elaina. Never ceases to amaze me how one type of strength does not automatically guarentee you're going to be great in all scenario's, mass has its disadvantages for sure.
