I laughed so hard at the caramelized onions. I thought she was going for a laugh, all the way until she put them on her food. Bless her. Her cooking skills have grown and grown so much, and that was just a second language issue. I can definitely understand how that could happen. I don't want to ever try candied onions though! XD
@thestablepirate2 жыл бұрын
Ahhh now I understand. So using sugar is “candied” and frying them on their own with the natural sugars is caramelised? Lol, definitely a second language barrier, because in German we would take the word literal. And I don’t think we even make a distinction between sautéed and caramelised onions idk. Let me look it up actually…So, in 4 German recipes for caramelised onions sugar was added. And sometimes a ton, sometimes less.

Sock.mp3 I think all veggies and fruit have natural sugar in them. If you eat them plain and raw you can taste it. (Disclaimer: raw potatoes and beans are poisonous, idk about other raw veggies/fruits)

The "curdled" looking butter mixture is actually pretty common and usually doesnt affect the final cake. I think it's about all the wet ingredients needing to be room temp and combined slowly. The sour cream or eggs were probably too cold.

hey, I fry a lot of food bc I cook for neighborhood families, so just from my experience trying to avoid splatter burns, I have a few tips: use a spoon/ladle with holes in it + long handles when moving the food while it’s frying rather than chopsticks. second, put a frying mesh circle over the pan- it keeps all the splattering inside the pan third, I suggest wearing a tight fitted oven mit! :) better luck next time!! I’m def trying those cheese balls. looks delicious.

I'm so impressed you attempted to make those rice noodles yourself! Like wow! I know they didn't turn out the way you intended, but they're actually pretty good considering you improvised with the tools you had on hand. The majority of us Asians wouldn't even bother to try to make rice noodles cause it's such a hassle! You might have better luck finding the rice noodles in a Vietnamese supermarket if you want to buy them next time. The Korean ones, I think are made with potato starch and that's why they're transparent and more chewy.
