It's nice to see, that you enjoy the process even if you can't put it on your ticklist. It's pure motivation.

Good effort. The bright side is that failure is a great motivator to train harder...especially if your psych has been lacking. 👊🏼

Totally! Nothing like getting on and feeling the psyche of wanting to climb something that’s a tad out of reach at the moment

Psyched you enjoyed it 😀. I really enjoy making these ones as well. Hoping to make more outdoor content when the weather allows. It’s just been so wet in the blue mountains 😣

Finding myself in a similar situation. Lots of max strength but shitty endurance. Would love to see a video on how to balance the two and periodise your training plan. Or rather how can i push my endurance without losing too much of my strength? So many questionmarks.
@TomOHalloranAus2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely keen to explore that. I think I’ve been able to strike a good balance on that over the years

@@TomOHalloranAus just got to the US. Training has started! I had a similar thing on my current project, and inwas scared to go back thinking my form was going to be worse after working away the summer. Should’ve just gone and tried the moves. Got upgraded while i was away and all! Psyched for Grit season!

Nice one. Yeah it’s funny how we can handicap ourselves and assume it’ll all be bad. Turns out it won’t bite and it’s actually fun haha. An upgrade is always cool haha

Really enjoying the videos, really insightful! I recall your video on downgrades, one of your FAs at my local crag, cheesecake 35 was recently downgraded to 33. Do you have any desire to come back to nowra to try the route again?
@TomOHalloranAus2 жыл бұрын
Yeah lots of new beta for that route. And when I did it I actually thought probably 33 but a few people told me I was off chops and it was harder. Honestly I’m not fussed. A few other routes I’ve done have been upgraded. It’s just a part of the new routing process 😀. I’ll be back down there as soon as I can (likely next year). Really keen to link it into Little Baby Cheeses into a new section of climbing I bolted last year
@robertrider98452 жыл бұрын
just a quick question, what do you do about the draws on the wall? are they left behind by previous climbers? or do you rappel down from the top in order to place them in?
@TomOHalloranAus2 жыл бұрын
Take them off at the end of each day. Usually rethreading the anchor. Then replace at the beginning of the day.

In your defense it's been pretty shit weather to get out to anything other than a gym for far too long. Also, you forgot to get the "long walk in" excuse out of the way early. I did suggest a bike to Amanda!
@TomOHalloranAus2 жыл бұрын
I did think about the bikes. But we don’t have an easy way to get the bikes from our place to the carpark. The walk was actually super nice. The length was fine, just don’t like hills haha
