The metal piece on the square is a hanger and I believe the hose on the saw is to hook a vacuum to.

I'm retired so I have to save money to purchase things like a planer and bandsaw. That being said, Temu has prices on the little things that are affordable. I've been buying things from Temu for well over a year now, and overall I'm very satisfied. When I don't have to pay for the brand name on small things like squares, Titanium coated drill bits, drill bit sharpeners, etc that leaves me more to go towards the big items. I've heard some rumors about the app, so I'm not downloading it. I've also bought other things besides tools, and very happy with those items as well.

Some good stuff. That site is similar to two other Chinese sites I have been shopping at for many years, and bought lots of tech, woodworking tools, router bits, screws, etc, at very good prices . I don’t need or shop at Temu, yet, I am glad they went online. The two I shop at, now have some better flash sales, and more often because of Temu. The only things I can caveat on shopping like that online , read the reviews and check the descriptions of the items. Also, many are in mm, or EU plugs, yet some have inches as well as US/NA plugs, in a buying choice. Remember, Temu is like Amazon, hosting different sellers, though all these sites have some sort of buying guarantee, for delivery, and damage, which can refund or partially refund your purchase, depending on the circumstances, but in a relatively short time frame. Mind you, there is no guarantee on a crap item, like that square, which I seen on my two sites, and avoided like the plague after reading the reviews 😅. Cheers

I bought the square.. it went to the trash. The cover is for hanging on the wall, thin rip jig works great, and I really like their pocket rulers. The mortising bit wont work in the drill press, I have the mortising machine but did not buy the bits from Temu. Great job Danial.

Great video, I try not to buy offshore tools and I don't discriminate on which country. Some of the tools you tested were obviously garbage, but some were descent quality. I have been in carpentry for over 30 years and just started woodworking. Most of my tools are oldies that I have accumulated over the years. I have several Delta and King tools (table saw, jointer, thickness planer, spindle sander) that have a made in Canada or USA label on them, but I believe that almost all tools made in North America in the past 40 years have at least some offshore parts in them, that's just the way it is. I wouldn't have any use for that mini circ saw, but it did seem to work ok.

I have a very similar thin rip jig and they work very well. a very useful tool to have, especially with a zero clearance insert and featherboards on the saw fence. that little red square thing is crap. I have one and while it isn't in the trash, it ought to be That dowel jig looks interesting. Thank you for the review of it. That little saw might just be a convenient tool for ripping plywood. In general, those items are manufactured in China (not a big deal, most of the world's manufacturing is there, so nothing to get worked up over) and sold via AliBaba. The issue is getting them imported from Alibaba to the US. So there are importing/distribuition companies that will buy in bulk and then ship to the US or import in bulk to the US and then distribute locally. Temu, Wish, etc. If you look through Amazon you can find the exact same items being sold from multiple resellers... They are all the exact same items. Beyond that, some are crap, some are not and you don't really know until someone puts hands on them to give unbiased reviews. Thank you for your insight on these things.

Really like you review of TEMU stuff. The dowel maker would be a great thing to process my pile of scrap wood that is just ‘TO GOOD’ to get rid of. I could go from a pile of scrap to a bucket full of dowel. Could that thing with the square have been a wall hanger to store it on, might have been the best use of that, stick it to the wall and forget it. Did the power saw come with its own battery and charger? Does your wife think it is a tool that she will use? Do you still have the option for folks to become the $1.99 members… I can’t figure out where to go for it? I don’t see any option on my phone, IPad or computer. Thanks for sharing.

There are two big problems with TEMU: 1) Associated with the CCP (China Communist Party), which means giving the CCP permission to collect all sorts of data from you. Probably a lot more than you would be comfortable with. 2) TEMU’s business plan appears to be not only to grab market share, but to put American competitors out of business. It is rumored that the CCP heavily funds the cost of products leaving China. Also, Americans subsidize, through tax dollars, the cost of shipping products from China to all over the planet (China gets heavily discounted shipping rates as a “Developing Country,”) so Americans pay extra there too. 3) (a bonus) China uses slave labor. 4) (a second bonus) When you go to the corner store, and purchase a product made in China, China makes profit, but so does your corner store. Some money goes back into the US. Buy from TEMU, and 00.0% of your purchase does anything to support any Americans other than maybe UPS, FedEx or the USPS. I am disappointed that the value of a video audience is worth boosting the CCP to you.

I purchased some items over a year ago, a chainsaw, drill, jig saw, and a few other items. No one of them is working today! They worked well for a short period of time so I would suggest not to purchase battery items or gas-run items. Items like the hand saw and the dowl cutter may be just fine. I decided not to support China.
