Glad you scooped one up. I was hesitant using that thing up in MI area but it has been doing the job. Still racking in those pike on it lol. I went with the floating first because I was worried how fast the slow sink would sink BUT I was wrong I now have 3 slow sinks because you can control those things in 2-3 ft of water with no problem I absolutely love the Trace

After fishing this a while what conditions would you reach for this over something else? Looks like dead calm conditions and lower light when you got bit.

Because it is the floating kinda works more like a topwater or wake bait. Lower light helps but I gravitated towards this bait because of the shad spawn was happening in this lake. The bass were going crazy for em. I base my decisions off of time of year and corresponding bait spawns🤙🏻

What size rod was you throwing on the trace.

It is the 7’5” X-HVY Fast Miliken Series Rod. It is capable of cast 1-1/4oz but it seems to do really well with the Trace and the Trace being 1.5oz. Gives it more of a parabolic bend which is really nice actually🤙🏻🔥

Not many people are throwing those types of baits up north, at least not targeting bass with baits that big.

Iv been throwing it a ton since it dropped and I’m so happy with them. My problem with most hard swimbaits is you go to slow or to fast and the Swimbait loses its action. Every speed seems to be this things sweet spot. You can burn it or you can crank it so so so slow and it still has an amazing action. Worth every penny

Absolutely! It has been awesome targeting largemouth up here in MI with the Trace! Glad ya are getting into em too with it. Thats why I bought the floating also at first but definitely need to pick up some slow sinks now🤙🏻🔥
