Modern devs LOVE UI clutter. I don't know how or why they develop HUDs that take up so much screen real estate, but they really want you to see the portrait of every player and giant health bars. TF2's default HUD does it way better.

I think it's also because they assume every single one of us has a 4KHDR TV or monitor, so they feel they can absolutely cram the screen with this clutter and tiny text in ways they couldn't do in the pre-HDTV days. Then it ironically results in someone like me, who does have access to a massive 4KHDR TV, struggling to read the tiny text because it turns out it's too tiny to even be comfortably readable on a wall-sized home theater system.

Some of the worst games out there still had passionate developers behind them. Bot farms generate thousands upon thousands of these bots easily. Moreover they reuse one or (likely) more AI models. I talked to a friend of mine about this complete failure of a game and he said that he was very disappointed that Sony canned Naughty Dog's The Last of Us Factions while they marketed and released this heap of shit and I remembered that Naughty Dog had Bungie consulting them about how to make a multiplayer game and Firewalk were ex-Bungie devs. I thought that was fucking hysterical and I laughed my ass off for a solid minute.
