In this episode I am trying to leave Ecuador and cross the border into Colombia. The Ecuadorian border is still closed, but Colombia is open, so all Ecuador has to do, is to let me leave. But will they??

Another country!! 🥳🥳 A lot of people seem to suggest that I should have bribed the officers to make things go faster. Here is what I have to say about that 😅 I think trying to bribe police or other officials is always a bad idea, unless you reallllly don’t have another choice. So, first of all - I don’t support corruption so I won’t offer bribes. Secondly, in my opinion it’s also not right to assume that every official in South America is corrupt 🤷‍♀️ You can get yourself into quite some trouble when you start offering bribes, to non-corrupt people.. So, I’ll just whine instead that it takes a long time and do things the way they are supposed to go 🤪😂

I didn't see anyone trying to copy her documents. Just the guy at 11:00 was asking for some documents in order to fill the online form, which is weird, but maybe travellers have to fill that form and get a copy of it beforehand and these guys are trying to make some money out of the ones how didn't make the process beforehand. But yeah, I totally get your point, when you're in Latin America you have to be trustful sometimes and wish people are helping you instead of taking advantage of you. I guess that also becomes part of your 'spidey senses' somehow over time 😂

Hello Madam, I still remember that you owned Ducati Monster but sold that beast and came to Delhi to buy BASANTI( Royal Enfield Himalayan) and started this channel, from there nothing has stopped you from the biking adventures that guys like me who are in there mid-20s dream of to be on. This channel has every small little things needed for a BIG Adventure. Watching your channel has inspired me to start my own biking adventure. Never settle, keep inspiring & thank you very much!!!

After crossing countless borders with my virtual friend Noraly that, I swear, when interstate driving here in the US, every time I see a "welcome to" sign my left arm automatically flexes, then swings forward and my voice in a Dutch accented but clearly discernible English says, "welcome to ... Alabama..." or whatever state I'm entering. Fortunately, I don't have to clear customs or get ripped off on some insurance scam. Travel safely Noraly.

Nor did we in Britain have to endure customs, etc when travelling in Europe, but since the disaster called Brexit, we have to at every border. Do other countries shoot themselves in the foot like Britain, I wonder?

As a Colombian I am very ashamed, and I must admit that each process with the government is very complicated and bureaucratic. We are light years behind other countries in the region. I'm very sorry about your experience with entering the country and the SOAT... It's incredible. Thank you for your nice attitude in the face of these horrible situations.

La Mordida (the "bite" or bribe)is alive and well in Colombia. The insurance guy is a great example. The people often are friendly but expand the fair prices to foreigners who are usually gullible. I'm glad you called him on it and he backed down a bit. It is a good for viewers to see how backwards and inefficient the government is there with all the lack of technology, different places you had to go and bewildering processes. Just imagine how it would be if you didn't speak Spanish! The whole fiasco started with the woman on the bridge who said "the border is closed..." I'm a bilingual Texan who travels to Mexico frequently and am familiar with the culture and practices. It's usually worse in border cities.

Mind you William, getting through USA Border Control and Customs can be a bit of a nightmare. When I visited from Scotland, my pal was wearing a kilt and had a flask of whisky in his sporran. When your customs said he couldn’t bring it in, he proceeded to sink it down in one! The Border Guard took a very dim view of this and threatened to arrest and deport him. My pal Is a good lad and very funny, so managed to talk them out of it fortunately, but the officers did have a bit of a humour failure. Cultural differences I guess, as dealing with a drunken Jock is just another day here in Bonnie Scotland. Hey and as a Keith you well might appreciate this, having Scots ancestry yourself?

@@stonemarten1400 Mind you, if you had to deal with thousands of people trying it on when entering the country, you too would lose your sense of humour very fast. More so when the guard has probably never taken to men wearing dresses. Yes, I know what a kilt is, I wore one when at Scotch College in the cadet corps, but that did not stop very weird reactions as I travelled to school on the bus.

You shouldn't project your experiences to other people lives. Colombians are really friendly people who will help you with a smile. When you enter any country you will find businesses next to it, where you can do paperwork, copies, book fares, exchange money, and so on. They are expensive because they are uniquely positioned to help. It's their business. It's not really a rip-off when you don't have a choice, it's the price for a solution to your problem. I think 12 USD for all the paperwork is dirt cheap. Same for the guy who helped her get her insurance. She bargained and got it for less. Good for her and good for the middle man. And Colombia is really advanced in technology. Government did things online years before the most advanced European countries.

🤣🤣"Absolute dog show" 🤣🤣 Here in the US that would be known as a "Dog and Pony Show", just a colloquialism for a total fiasco!! However, with your experience crossing many international borders, you handled it like a champ. 🥇🤩 As you probably know, take care on painted pavement when wet. 😉👌

or Dog Poop Show or a less nice word for Poop. Dog and Pony Shows generally refer to business presentations, at least in my experience, and in a dictionary. No matter, I think we all know what she meant. Another amazing video, Noraly! the architecture and construction of that church was amazing.
