Nick, southwest ND doesn’t look much different, except for the badlands and buttes. I haul crude to support my mx bike, sport quad, and 4430 habits, and yesterday I chained up all 3 loads I pulled to the lact. Figure it’s easier to stay out of trouble than get out of trouble.

Sorry to hear the calf didn't make it. Hope the mother fares better. We didn't get a lot of snow here but the problem is the wind. WIndy today, nice tomorrow & then 30 to 40 mph winds the next 3 days. I went to town for a couple of hours after dinner, & when I got home it was all I could do to get back up the driveway in 4wd. I'm getting real tired of cleaning out the driveway. Spring can't come soon enough.

Weather it means anything to you nick we had same situation with a heifer before. Lost the calf momma couldn't stand. took her weeks to eventually get up, she did heal up and we sold her but just wanted to say give the momma a really good Chance miracles happen.

So many seem to see it otherwise, but big cows and big bulls equals very hard calving. Like those smaller animals for birthing and survivability. Oh well, like you say Nick, hope your cow pulls through. You guys are work as hard as all of us hate to see you lose anything.

Line-up needs more silver and grey paint in it lol And I feel the pain of that calf loss. We lost one already this year, but I think that was because instead of putting the calf in the fresh straw where it'd be warm and outta the wind, she decided to drop it in a snowbank back in the bush somewhere where big friggin' furry stuff lives that'd eat ya (as usual with some of these cows lol)
