PepsiInc ;3 the problem with growing up is you can't stop it. people say they'll be the same way for life..but that only counts if you plan on being homeless. lol. responsibility sneaks up on you. you either jump in early or it hits you later in life and it changes you. not to say life is going to suck and you are going to turn into some hardass douchenozzle. but having to take care of yourself and/or others for the rest of your life changes your perspective no matter who you are. My dad..bless the place his heart should have been, told me my junior year in high school what life as an adult would be all about.. quote unquote " Joseph, when you graduate high school. you will have completed 12 years of education. that's 12 years of your life dedicated to teaching you how to be an upstanding citizen.. and then you get a part time job. a good one... so you can afford college at least. then after college which should take 8-10 years if your going for your doctorate which i expect of you,son.. then you get a full-time job. 12-14 hours a day every day except Sunday which is your optional off-day because doctors are never truly off. then you do that for 40 years or so until you retire..in which you will be one of few people who can actually afford to retire... and by that time me and your mother will be unable to take care of ourselves.. so you'll do that for us.. you'll have money and a medical degree. that's my dream for you son.. to take care of me and mom. now get out there and enjoy life"
@Pueo7119 жыл бұрын
PepsiInc ;3 To quote Bernard Malamud: "We have two lives the one we learn with and the life we live after that." - The Natural. This is the essence of adulthood; to understand that every action has a consequence, whether good or bad. This doesn't mean you can't live a life being young at heart so long as you recognize that you have responsibilities that must be met!

My friend and I were seriously just talking about this less than an hour ago. We're adults now and have been friends since we were in diapers. As kids we wanted to grow up so badly, thinking we'd have all this freedom and can do whatever we wanted. Boy were we wrong. We both agreed childhood was much more fun and carefree! Now we've got bills to pay and what not.
@nikkiisisawesome9 жыл бұрын
I know later that I'll have that feeling, I'm 14 right now and no matter how much I try to enjoy being a kid and do fun kid stuff, I can't wait to be an adult and be able to drive a car and own my own house and stuff like that. I knew I'd have a similar feeling when moving from elementary school to jr high, because I knew I'd have a lot more homework and stuff to do, so when I was in 6th grade I constantly told myself that when I was in middle school I wouldn't look back at my 6th grade self and wish that I enjoyed elementary school more, because in 6th grade I really didn't feel that much better than I do now, because I was so used to the small amounts of homework and waking up late that all of it just felt normal, and I wanted so badly to have more stuff to do... Basically I'm just saying that when I'm 30, I'm not going to look back at my school years as something I completely wasted, because at that time it all felt normal to me. And also I think why kids want grow up and adults want to be kids again is because we get bored of our normal life and want a change...whatever, live in the moment people

+Mayumi Sora Those girls think they are mature by putting makeup on and stuff, but the day they realize that being an adult is not just doing what you want and playing sexy, but also earning money, paying taxes, and take care of your own cleaning/cooking and so on, they´ll realize they lost time trying to be adults when they should have enjoyed their teenage years...The truth is you are more mature than them being objective about your age and enjoying it. They are immature for they are pretending to be something they have no idea about.

I am 24 yrs old woman and I totally appreciate and relate to this! Grown up probably is a continuing process that never ends as long as we live. Life will always be challenging at every stage in its own way. I think part of the key is stop comparing your life with others' life. Some people will always have what you don't have and you will constantly have to "catch up". Every life is unique and of course there is no set way people have to live their life. I'm sure you already have, if not, will have some thing(s) others don have! I think we need to stop judging each other based on what someone has or does not have, because every life is valuable just the way it is and our differences make our lives interesting. Life to me is NOT a checklist nor a race to see who can have the most.

Same thing happened to me, I'm 23 and I still feel that I'm a little girl, but when I meet my old friends same age of me, most of them get married and have kids and taking responsibility of a family, at that moment I feel so weird, really! People are so different

growing up doesn't mean you have to be serious all the time. in fact, being an adult means that you have money that you can spend on all of your (probably immature) hobbies! i'm 20, i'm in a long term relationship, and i have a little baby. that doesn't mean that i'm gonna stop having fun! i just have to plan my fun.

Honestly, I wanted to be in my 20s since I was 15, I had my close friends, supportive family, everything was cool, just didn't like the high school era, always felt like we were forced to do everything at school and at home, currently in my mid-20s and have loved every year since, have had a lot of major ups and downs, travel when I want to, move anywhere I want to, be able to have mature and immature conversations, I just refuse to get married in my 20s, its only been 5 years and I still have 5 years left until my 30s, 40s 50s and 60s will be a completely different chapter, marriage can wait

Omg I'm 28 and I literally met up with a friend who'se 26 recently and she already got married like 3 years ago. And we were talking, I felt like such a young person compared to the responsibilities she had. They're trying for a baby (even tho she said childfree is non-negotiable but she's forced to have a baby now), they're moving into a house they recently bought. While I'm still doing my creative job, thinking of going back to school, planning to take a road trip to the mountains with my friend & living with my parents. Didn't regret what I have though after hearing her life, I literally wouldn't want that to settle down this young. That seems too much draining.

4 years ago, when I was 20, I watched this video and think "Man.. Sara is literally me. Would I ended up feeling like her when I was 24?" And the answer now, is: YES I still like childish things.. drawing, etc just like the Sara in every buzzfeed video. But the actual thing that I want to say is THANK YOU BUZZFEED! Thank you for making a video that totally relate to my situation now. I just wish that you can continue to make content like this because it's inspiring and relatable :( I keep coming back to old buzzfeed videos because I miss them.

Buzzfeed violet is my favourite because the people in the fan base all seem friendly and like we all can relate to each other. The other buzzfeeds are always being picked on. Like seriously, in a video on another buzzfeed they made garlic bread and the people were saying that it looked like someone barged on a plate. You don't do that :( so thanks buzzfeed violet ;)

I'm 15, and the most enjoyable about childhood in my opinion is having a plenty of free time. Like, when you're a teenager in the 21st century you can read so many amazing books, study foreign languages and science, do some creative stuff, communicate with people and just have fun, not thinking about taxes and other adult things. I think, attending university is also going to be incredibly interesting, but so far "now" has been the best time of my life. For me teenage years are so much better than the early childhood.

t's ironic how the people who get too hung up over acting mature and thinking themselves too old to do anything fun are often acting very childish. Like a child on a playground telling others they are baby if they still want their teddybear or such. My advice would be that you'll have a lot more fun in life if you can keep embracing it with childlike enthusiasm. The only thing we should strive to outgrow as adults is a childish mindset. Have fun in life, without neglecting your responsibilities.
