the 'proper' way to consume a full english breakfast is horrendously hungover on an outdoor pub bench at around 11:30am on a sunday morning
@profeadsey
@profeadsey 4 жыл бұрын
This is correct. Alternatively you have grandiose plans to make an English breakfast hungover, everything goes cold and you end up too queasy to eat it.

@@yesang3532 typically everything is cooked in a frying pan , sausage, bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tomato, black pudding, toast/bread and then with a side of baked beans. The toast is merely there for the egg and beans to dip into.
@mollyclark4877
@mollyclark4877 4 жыл бұрын
@@yesang3532 Its like you chop things up as you go and take bites of a mix of different things (mainly toast is for beans and egg). And you could also pile things up on your fork. I think that it would actually be quite hard for americans to do it the same way though as if you're not used to using european utensil etiquette you'd either have to switch hands with every bite or chop everything up first and that would take ages! So i kind of get why he did it - but seems wrong still!

Deise Vilela Don’t hate on and spread misinformation on things you know nothing about. Why are you even here if only to be bitter and judgmental? A well balanced vegan diet is extremely healthy and beneficial for many people! This is a known fact. People who don’t do well on a vegan diet simply didn’t do it correctly and weren’t getting the proper nutrition, which is entirely possible to get from plants, it just takes some research and planning. Educate yourself please :)

Julien have you ever heard of Indian black salt? Not sure why it’s called that because it’s pink, but it’s super cheap at any Indian grocery store. It is a sulfury salt. with an english breakfast it’s really give and take, everyone’s is different but the basis is -eggs -sausage -bacon -black pudding -toast or fried bread -hash browns -baked beans -mushrooms -fried tomatoes the greasier the more authentic and the baked beans have to be in tomato sauce like the sweet kind not like us baked beans. oooo and for a sauce brown sauce is a staple :))

@@vanessacaixeta it really isn't an every day thing, like a lot of people have said, it is a treat or hangover cure. I am one of those rare Britons that doesn't drink alcohol anymore so l will only have a full English for birthdays, easter and the occasional Saturday treat. I would prefer home cooked beans. Tinned beans are full of sugar and lack flavour and texture. We have a lot of canned and jarred foods courtesy of the wars.

Brit here: when you eat an English breakfast generally you just load up your fork with a little bit of everything and then mop up the leftover sauce/grease with the toast at the end. My personal favourite way to serve it is with a soft-boiled egg and the toast cut up into strips - you dip the strips into the runny yolk, and that's called eggy soldiers! You could pull off something similar with the poached "egg" you made here, I think. Overall, I say you nailed it!

Needs bacon (or plant-based alternative) and black pudding (I highly doubt there's a plant-based version of this). And HASH BROWNS! Pros and Cons of being able to lay an egg (coming from a chicken keeper) Pro: there’s a celebratory song that breaks out in the whole flock, every time an egg is laid! Con: you lay at a different time every single day. Don’t count on that afternoon nap, Buckbeak, you have to lay an egg first, today.

Hey Julien, you should just straight up try beans on toast. I pop a thick piece of gluten free toast in a hot pan with vegan butter and toast it like that on medium until browned on both sides, then slap some hot beans on top... And dig in with a fork and knife. I'll add Frank's to my beans for some heat sometimes. If you want a challenge, slow cook your own beans in a vegan BBQ sauce 👌

I love seeing your tribute to the english breakfast!! Especially as a veggie, this looked amazing! *However* I will include a detailed guide to a proper English breakfast for future tasty adventures.. Bacon... meat free alternatives are great.. but it must be fried. Crispiness is not essential in british culture. Sausages- the cheaper the better when it comes to breakfasts (for some reason) but if you can get your hands on richmond meat free sausages youll get a great idea of a proper british sausage. Eggs- scrambled, fried or poached and plant based of course so this is personal preference. Beans- must be heinz. Theyre delicious and i often microwave them for an english breakfast.. or if im making beans on toast ill throw them in a pan to simmer briefly with some cheese. Toast- now there are 2 options: toasted and smothered in butter or fried in butter in a pan to make what we called fried bread.. very good but not my choice unless i make it myself. Mushrooms were spot on really.. Tomatoes.. either halved tomatoes that have been fried in a pan or grilled. But hardcore englishmen have tinned tomatoes (plummed is best but chopped are fine and they often need sugar and salt added to balance out the tartness. Truly delicious. Hashbrowns- not traditionally british but theyre widely seen on english breakfasts nowadays.. mcdonalds hashbrowns are the closest consistency similar to a british hashbrown. All glugged down with proper yorkshire tea and milk or a chilled glass of fresh orange juice.

Hey Julien, as a British person I thought I'd give you the full list of an English breakfast (and I'm listing traditional, not vegan. Substatute at will) Sausage (preferably Cumberland) Bacon (back bacon specifically) Egg (fried, scrambled in or poached) Fried mushrooms Fried tomato Black pudding (which I personally don't like but... Traditionally it's appart of it) Hash browns (amazing) Baked beans (has to be Heinz) Toast with lots of butter. It's not eaten as a sandwich and is eaten with a knife and fork. Also I have no idea where you got spinich from.

this made me feel very nostalgic, but also so wholesome! my father is from scotland (we live in germany) and we used to call this meal a "fried scot" (= "gebratener schotte" in german) instead of an english breakfast :P of course we did not have a vegan version + my dad would eat bacon with it too. i was a very picky eater and went vegetarian at some point, so as a child i would usually only eat the baked beans with the toast, sometimes an egg. love it to this day tho! lovely video juleeeeen
