Omg this video is exactly what I went through last night playing 2, 5. I haven’t sat at a poker table in so long. You, Rampage, and Brad Owens got me back into it. After losing 1800 I got back with quad twos shipping it all in with two callers and got the high hand!

You weren't kidding about pumping out a lot of content after taking a break. You really do a great job with the narration. I won't call it a gift because that would imply you were just given this skill. I'm guessing the reality is that you work your ass off at getting it right. I'm a fan and appreciate the hard work. Thanks!

You had a read and you went with it. It helps to not only win the pot, but it sends a message to the rest of the table “be careful trying to bluff that guy”. Even if you had lost that pot, it’s still send the same message to your opponent and everyone else at the table. A lot of times, your gut is right. Most of the time if you are beat, you know you were beat. Most of the time when you think you’re good you are good. Even though you won’t be right every time, you will be right often enough to make your poker career more successful. You don’t have to be right every time an order for a call this still make sense.

Passive calling station preflop and then fold whenever you miss is not winning poker in any era. You need massive luck to overcome that.

2-5 players are much wilder than you are, so this is definitely going to teach you that you have to not be afraid to call some bets light when you feel that they are bluffing or if they are just betting the scare card. Of course, there will be times that they have it, or like that last hand, times when you bluff catch them. You feel great when you call them, and you feel like an idiot when you try to bluff catch and they have the nuts. All part of the variance of the game.

1/2 tends to play pretty straight forward. 2/5 is very different - as you described. I love the excitement in the commentary. It really is great. It's just obvious the money matters to you. Emotionally, the key is having the money "not matter". Adapt to the table but play your game. In one of your other videos you described your chips as your troops and you as the general. You seemed to have a different mentality in this game is all. Pretty natural when moving up. I'm happy it worked out this time around. A lot of people move up too quickly. Build your bankroll in the 1/2 until losing a few hundred w/ AK isn't a big deal. Then you won't chase w/ JT off... Like I said, loved the video. GL in the future.

You were going about preflop play backwards. If they aren’t folding when you sized up pre then just raise a normal amount, you’re still going multi way regardless. You save your stack and can still get all the money in if you hit your hand.
@imonlyheretoarguewithidiots
@imonlyheretoarguewithidiots 3 жыл бұрын
Came here to point this out. Every legitimate reason you could possibly have for raising preflop becomes irrelevant when everyone calls. This is where you need to be tricky. Just limp lol. You could literally flop the nuts, overbet pot, and you'd still get called by three people with bottom pair and a gutshot. You don't have to worry about getting value at a table like this. Don't treat them like smart people, treat them like the greedy chimps they are and rake them over the coals. By the time you've shown down the nuts a couple times, you'll switch over into bluff mode and make them fold because "THIS GUY JUST ALWAYS HAS THE NUTS UUGGHHHH". That's when you start showing bluffs. It'll blow their minds. This is THE winning strategy at tables like this. Smash the flop, check raise, rake in the pot.

Great call with the J.10 hand. Keep in mind when your playing in a very loose game like you were people are mostly gambling and trying to put anyone on a hand can be hard. I've found raising hands like A.J can be tricky especially if you get like 4 or more callers. Even when an ace hits its tough to know where you are. I some times will take a more passive position and see what flops for a cheaper price and if you flop gin, like top pair top kicker or two pair your hand can be somewhat disguised. I play mostly 2/5 or 5/10 and playing in any game where people are just flinging chips around can be like walking thru a mind field. In any case your vids are great to watch, well put together and entertaining.

Man your analysis of the last hand was just amazing! 👍👍.. He could very well have had an AK type of holding (since he bet on the flop into 7 players even though small one) but your read to call on the TURN was spot On. I feel that was a critical point -- From there on once you committed, River bet was relatively straightforward !

I think the better play for the J10o is to chip it on the turn cuz you picked up some more equity with the double gutter to go along with second pair, and you block all of the hands that beated you on that turn (K). Anyway, river would be call anyway with decent showdown and pot committed on the turn already. btw, nice read and nice hand bro. Keep it up! love your vlog.

@@mrwezbo 😂😉 I can imagine it too Though tbf Brad plays $1500-3000 buy ins and probably has a bigger bankroll than PB, so can understand PB wanting to conserve the stack, though it would look a bit nitty folding flop after a few preflop raises. Last week at my pub game I was card dead/coolered, couldn't hit a combo draw to save my life, my top pairs sucked out on etc Punted off half my stack with AJ, bloke with pocket 6s called me down, even when I put him all in on the turn after I barrelled preflop then on the flop. Had a diamond draw and overs on a 10 high board and it all missed, he had to have put me on AK/AQ/AJ... Got half it back a few hands later, he turned bottom pair + busted clubs into a bluff, I called with 3rd pair even with an ace and king out there, his line early in the hand made no sense, swings and roundabouts end of the day.

Looking forward to part two, Yes sir 2/5 is a lot different then 1/2 or 1/3.....for some reason the players are more aggressive and looser that 2/5. and as you said, players will toss in 40, 50, or 100 bucks per flop with marginable hands, which great for action. you just got very unlucky with the hands you opened or called per flop,(that's poker) but the poker gods are with and I am sure you will do well

Great Vlog and.content i enjoy your vids alot. Your a solid player, missed a few expensive flops happens. But you played J10 correct, only thing i was thinking was he floating kq maybe with his small flop bet. But once you call the turn, you commit to calling the river. 2hearts changes nothing. And his 280 bet was a gift at the price you cant fold. Unless you had say A8 chasing a straight. But even then he bets you cant call. Anyway that was my insight into that 1. Well played mate

Jamming turn is better if you think you’re behind but your opponent is likely to fold. In this instance I like the flat since your instinct was that you were likely ahead. Keep his bluffs in so you get paid max value by the river bluff.
@mjriemen
@mjriemen 3 жыл бұрын
I think jamming the turn is better than just calling down. You turn a double gut shot in addition to your flopped top pair. If you get it in on the turn you at the very least have pretty good equity even if you are currently beat. If you just call turn and call river, you could be getting in a lot of money with no chance of winning. Even if you ultimately loose the hand you still are hypothetically winning a certain amount of value getting it in on the turn. He will fold his bluffs if you jam turn and you wouldn’t have actually won as much in the hand, but its probably a better play if you are not folding.
