haaahaaaa my kids are to young to know these words. i thought teen lingo was weird when i was a teen so i don't think when my kids start talking in code it will be any better. like, when everyone said something was "sick" i always thought that was a bad think....who want's to be ill....but they always said it like it was a good thing 🤷♀️

It was only with extreme reluctance (and after extracting my promise not to use it) that he would explain. Thank you for enabling conversation with teenagers...even if it drives them up the wall.

My kids (that are still at home) are 15 and 16 and every other day they're saying a new word that I swear I have either 1) never heard or 2) never heard in this context and I am always mildly confused. 😅Then they have the nerve to refer to the things I say as "old people words." They'll understand one day. That's what I've been telling myself for the last dozen or so years. 🤞

My Gen X mom had a similar experience with her Silent Generation mom though. She called my aunt a "Pip" one day. My grandmother got upset with my mom and told her that they don't use that word in their house. Turns out my grandmother thought that my mom called my aunt a pimp. She had to had to explain Gladys and The Pips to my grandma and play some of their music for her. 🤣🤣🤣

I remember my parents trying to tell me how a lot of the things I was saying were actually pretty vulgar because of what they referred to. I wasn't ready to hear any of it at the time, and I was sure they were completely out of touch and 100% wrong. Oh my, my 24 year old step daughter is on Snapchat. Her Dad and I are an age gap couple, I'm 26 and he's 53. He asked me a few years back what Snapchat is. When I told her about that later on, her response was that her dad is too old to know what Snapchat is! 🤣 I'm very much a Millennial though, once she said to me she was wearing booty shorts and I asked her if that was the same as Daisy Dukes. We were both left confused, she didn't know what Daisy Dukes are.
