Trying to unclog a toilet with dish soap and hot water

I had a nasty clog. I followed this advice but it took 2 days before the clog was cleared. Saved me $200 from calling a plummer.

I tried this. Amazingly, it actually worked! Thought I was doomed with the hopelessly clogged toilet, having to get a plumber out here, but then . . . In my case, after squirting half a bottle of dish soap in there, I let it sit for about 2 hrs, then came back with the bucket of hot water, and heavy duty plunger. After a couple of plunges, it completely cleared up. Previous attempts with the plunger were completely ineffective, didn't do anything. Thanks for posting!

I started with a plunger didn’t work, then used dish soap then plunged again then it worked.

this works, took me 3 tries and a lot of patience but it worked. my clog was pretty stubborn, but this did the trick. :)

Better to leave it to soak in with hot water then use a large bucket of water rather than flushing.

This truly works!!..i leave it a few with hot water and dish soad.. then flush again using a bucket of hott water and bam!!..it went!!.

Two things - one, thank you for the video letting me know this was a process. I thought it was a "one and done" from the way I heard about this method and tried it. I thought I did it wrong when it didn't work the first time. Second thing, LOVE the appearance by the doggo! He's the best boy! 😀😀

Use dishwasher liquid soap,it's stronger and works faster did for me.
