I want one and also looking at 1st gen se and 5s. I miss the boxy body of the older iPhones and the simpler times.

The thing why some times it’s not activated is because some phones reinstall the system with the same data with ISPW and since apple doesn’t sign that ISPW it’s not activated

It's not activated because it's a 3G phone and 3G networks aren't a thing anymore. Has nothing to do with software

Could I use an iPhone 4s just for an mp3 player for my kids. I don’t want them to have internet access. I found an old iPod for this but would iPhone also work by connecting to my iTunes library. That’s worth $25. I 🤔

It can upgrade to 9.3.6 but iOS 6 has that older classic feel so i left it there. I bought 2 of these on eBay years ago and it had 6 on it already. Not sure if it was never upgraded or if someone downgraded it at some point. I should see if coconut battery will show battery cycles but I haven't tried yet and don't know if it will on iOS 6.
