They really pop off the black paper! Very nice work. :) Makes me even more excited about using acrylic gouache in the future.

There's something about paintings on black backgrounds that I just love. Often, when I'm using a more transparent color, or one that soaks in like your green, I will paint the shape over with a titanium white first, let it dry, then add the green. That fixes it every time for me. Your pinecones are stunning.

That's what I do with colored pencils on black paper. But this time I just wanted to test the paint and see how well they would perform.

i clicked on this for fun but accidently learned how people mix colors on a palette so fast without thinking about the color you need beforehand, and mix enough of it so its available, maybe im bad at research, but this was HUGE for me

Lol, glad I could help by accident!!

Beautiful. You should definitely consider making prints for X-mas cards this year! It would look incredible with some fancy gold "Merry Christmas" calligraphy
@Sandrinesgallery3 жыл бұрын
That's an excellent idea! I usually make my Christmas cards by hands, but this would be a time saver. Thank you for the suggestion!

I just found your channel. Informative and well done. I also just learned from you about the super thanks feature that I'm really happy about since I get so much from youtube content providers and would like a simple way to help support. Thank you :)

Thank you so much for your kind words and your generosity. It means a lot. The Super Thanks are a new feature, and not all channels have them yet. But I can't wait until they do since I too want to show my appreciation to some very helpful creators. Thank you again.

I bought the van gough black water colour paper and it was terrible like cross hatching all over it,

I didn't care for the Van Gogh black watercolor paper either. It almost felt like a thick construction paper. So far, I like the Stonehenge one better. It has a more traditional looking cellulose cold press texture. I'll need to get some hot press paper if I want to try on a smoother surface. Humm... let's go shopping!...

Love the video! I just got some turners acrylic gouache to try out and actually have black paper too! Where did you get that clear container by the way?
@Sandrinesgallery3 жыл бұрын
It's a stay wet palette I got on Amazon: amzn.to/3qph9Fo I love it because it prevents my acrylic gouache from drying and I can work on a painting in several days without wasting any paint.

@@Sandrinesgallery cool! Thank you so much!! I bet it's a really convenient size too 🙂

I love how your pine cones just pop right off the paper. It's weird how that paper has lines in it, almost like the cheap pastel papers, but I'm pretty sure this one is meant for more water based media? I need to get some back paper lol
@Sandrinesgallery3 жыл бұрын
You got it right. I went back to the website where I got this overpriced sketchbook and it does say the paper is more for pastels and colored pencils. And I remember how disappointed I was seeing the texture. So I stuck with my beloved Stonehenge black paper for my colored pencils. I'm thinking about getting some black hot press paper to try the gouache on next.

Wow, wonderfullllll results, great job!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Also the stay wet palette tip was great, thank you. I was wondering if there was a way to store the tubes so they wouldn't dry out over time...maybe in airtight glass jars? What would you recommend Sandrine?🫶🏽
@Sandrinesgallery Жыл бұрын
Thank you very much. I think it takes a lot for the paint to dry inside of the tubes, but it definitely can happen and putting them in an airtight container sounds like a great idea.
@agirlhasnomoney Жыл бұрын
@sandrinesgallery Yeah I think so too. Actually I recently purchased the 36 Turner Acrylic gouache set and 3 of them came dried in the tubes! While I've ordered a replacement set, it kind of left an impression in my mind that that happening even for other colors could be a normal thing for the set so I got worried a bit 😨 since I don't want it dying on me so soon, it's a big investment 😢 💔!!
