Great video, thank you very much for taking the time to post it. This took me about five hours including working around a concrete step in the garage, removing the oil filter, running to AutoZone for the correct starter, a test drive, a beer, and a shower. I didn't remove the catalytic converter, so I don't know how this compares with that method.

I started this project this morning. Got along ok until trying to even get to the invisible motor mount bolt. BTW I am doing this project on my concrete drive. The Traverse front end is on car ramps. After two hours of trying to get to that invisible motor mount bolt I decided it was time to call it a day and watch some more videos. I am going to sleep on it and start fresh in the morning. Thanks for this video, I think it will help me out finding that elusive motor mount bolt. I changed out the alternator on this Traverse a few months ago, nothing was easy about that ordeal either! I think this vehicle needs to find a new owner. I am too old for this shit.

If I remember right, service data said to remove the cat. That’s completely unrealistic in my area because everything rusts and the cat bolts/studs will snap off.

Discovered you don't need to remove sensor or oil filter to get starter out... Take cat convertor out completely ... Get a good light & twist starter just right - solenoid part of starter will slide just under sensor (white plastic) ... it will clear sensor bottom with enough room to be able to remove other end of starter from housing. Turn starter & remove power connections - then you can remove starter completely.
@Tomsfoolery. Жыл бұрын
You lost me at “take cat converter out”. That doesn’t happen here on any car older than three years. Rust takes over and you’d be replacing the manifold because the bolts/studs WILL all break off.
