Pawpaw Ridge, I totally agree with Trish - this is the best video I have ever watched because it is short and to the point, no fluff. Myself and my 13 year old son built this today exactly how you showed. He watched it once and we worked together and completed it in no time. Thank you!!!!

I designed my cattle panel trellis's with raised beds inside so I can cover the trellis with greenhouse plastic and use it for a greenhouse in the winter months and large cold frame in late winter and early spring.
@PawPawRidgeHomestead Жыл бұрын
Great Idea. Next year we are building raised beds on the outside so they do not get walked on but we leave the tunnels open mainly for the look of it!

I love using cattle panels in the garden! We used five 4ft.×12ft panels and started attaching them about 2ft. Up on the t posts. This gave us more height and we to used metal clips to connect to the to panels together to prevent swaying. Since we used five in panels, my arbor was 20 ft. long and about 8 ft. tall. I planted on the outside and the inside of the arbor & planted green beans. I canned 134 qts. of beans from this arbor aka the green bean garage.😊😊😊
@mariekelly73259 ай бұрын
So planting on the inside is not too shady for growing? And did you only plant pole green beans?
@lynnlamont34859 ай бұрын
@@mariekelly7325 I placed the arbor with openings facing east and west so that they get morning and afternoon sun coming in so apparently not because I got a ton of beans. I also used soil Innoculant which increases the yield.😊

Great video! If would like to have a trellis like this, and put it at a different spot every year, do you have suggestions how to make handy adjustments to make it more mobile? Because this one I would need to break down and build it back up right?
@lane_actual_3 ай бұрын
Yes, would need to pull stakes & move to new spot. I’ve seen other videos where ratchet straps help hold the panel in an arch, so could to that before removing posts to keep trellis shape rather than release to flat 16’ piece to move?

A section of log with some rocks in front of it also will hold these things in place if you don't have conduit and all this other stuff. In fact about anything will hold them in place. For those of you that don't want to work the dirt and break it up and do all that. Just lay down some weed block inside the tunnel. And use containers. Even if something as small as a one foot by 3 foot plastic window box, will give beans plenty of roots to grow all over that thing. In fact using containers and grow bags for your tomatoes and other vining plants inside of that, is a great way to go. Set up some drip irrigation in a Bluetooth timer and you're there

I would like to do this but I am wondering what those poles you are pounding into the ground are called and where I can get them. I like the idea of pounding them a foot in the ground so they are really sturdy since I get really strong winds where I am at. To me, these seem like they would work better for me than t-posts because they are longer.
