TSC Producer's Pride Defender Chicken Coop Build Ref Video | 12 Chicken Capacity | Start to Finish

We recently moved to a new house and had to build a new coop/run. We purchased a pre-fab coop because we had little time to build anything from scratch. After researching and reviewing many coops, we decided that "TSC Producer's Pride Defender" would be perfect for our 12 hens. We were a little skeptical about the size, but our girls seemed very happy with their new house! Building part was not too hard, but it wasn't too easy either. It took 3 adult brains and 4 hours from start to finish. It's very sturdy and predictor-proof! Overall, we are very happy with our choice!
We put this video together to help others decide whether this will be a perfect home for their chickens. Also, we kept as many clips as possible in case someone needed a construction video reference.

Now I have a pretty good idea of it all, thankyou for you well done video and the subtitles. It was good to see the setup and what you require to get the job done. - 2 - 3 tall people or some sort of elevation. A ladder would be a nuisance, I think. Of course you either cleanout the roost-poop catchment area on a very regular basis otherwise your chickens will get lung problems from breathing in the and get sick and die. One of your black hens doesn't look very healthy.

I think you are referring to the naked neck hen? She doesn’t have any feather on her neck naturally and was also molting when I took this video. 😅

What do you cover the ground on the run with?

I put a very thick layer of wood chips. After a few months, it becomes compost, and I replace it with fresh ones.

Over priced and poor design and poor quality. Don't buy if you are up north. It can not handle a large snow load. Many large gaps in the coop. Hard to clean the upper level inside. Wouldn't recommend any more than 6 chickens. Large gaps in the fencing. Be prepared to do alot of modifications. Very disappointed

We had it for about 8 months now with 12 chickens, and so far, we are very happy with this coop. The gap is large and you might need to install the hardware cloth if you have rodents around. We are lucky and haven't seen any so far. 🤞
