Do you know how wide the wall panels are on each side? 4 feet x 6? Or 5x5 ? Seems to be a typos on tax website and it doesn’t give the length of the wallls only the width. Trying to determine overall sq foot of just the building not the run

How would you reccommended fastening the hardware cloth to the metal fence
@fromthehartfarms
@fromthehartfarms 7 ай бұрын
I would hope the cloth has grommets around edges & use those & ring clips to connect to top rail of side walls of run. If using as an awning attachment to exterior I would extend that over coop side by screwing in eye screws to attach grommets to. Hope that helps. On bottom (if attaching flat against walls) I would stretch to ground as tight as possible and secure to lowest section of welded wire on panels.

@@fromthehartfarms last question, this thing is 450 lbs. How did yall get it in the truck, much less move it to where it needs to be. Will a basic appliance dolly work with 3 men?
@fromthehartfarms

Yes, it is a heavy load! I guess we cheated. We had it delivered & opened up the box to move individual pieces to a wagon and then used wagon load by load to transfer to set-up location.

@@halilbalaban1056 There are 12" in one foot. Please dont ask for yards or meters... I don't know THAT math. Lol There is a 1" floor height under the coop itself. The short sides of coop is therefore 1" shorter than run height from ground up; measuring from 50.5" or 4.21' on short sides up to 70" or 5.83' at peak. The structures width (across doors left to right) is 65" or 5.42' and the length is 123" or 10.25' with the run taking 80" or 6.67' and the coop utilizing the remaining 43" or 3.58'. Good luck!

What is the material used in the construction of the walls of this coop? Also, I asked about the dimensions of the coop.

How are you liking this coop? Is it worth the money?
@fromthehartfarms
@fromthehartfarms Жыл бұрын
I actually haven't finished modifying it yet. The birds I put in it died of heat overnight early last week. I would not recommend this coop for sunny areas with no shade & possibly not even in shade without serious changes made to it to increase ventilation & airflow. The flats we put up on the west side helped, but I didn't get the vent hole cut in time. I still plan on doing that and adding the solar fan. But I also feel like I need to add shade cloths/screens to block more of the sun. I feel so horrible about the 6 birds I lost. They were all around 14 weeks old. Such a shame. I cried for hours, and refuse to use the coop again until we have finished adding the fan & shade.

@@fromthehartfarms I am so sorry to hear about your loss! I actually was looking to upgrade my coop because I just lost one of my girls to heat stroke yesterday. She's one of my first chickens, so it's been really tough. I'm really glad I asked you about this. I was thinking it didn't look like it has much ventilation, so that was definitely a concern. Again, I am sorry for your loss. This has been a wicked summer.
