Nothing can describe JR more than when he played in Philly and took a full force slap shot to the face, completely shattering his Jaw into a million pieces. Gets up skates to the bench(this would have destroyed a lesser man) sits down waiting for his next shift….pulls out a couple of teeth, jaw basically hanging off. The trainer has to get him off the bench to look at it, bro your face is a mess. JR comes back the next day with a face mask on. Legend. Been watching him since he was a rookie, and my second favorite player in history behind Hossa. Congratulations JR you deserved this years ago.

He's an honest human being. It has nothing to do with being "close to a Canadian". "JR might be an American, but..." is such a denigrating comment to make, especially when the crux of your entire comment is to show how polite and humble Canadians are. Hypocrisy at its finest.
@Maiden.Canada7 күн бұрын
@ So, you’re American? If so, you have your own issues to be concerned with. And, if you’re a Canadian, you just showed everyone that we’re not all humble, some of us are just outright assholes.

As a Blackhawks fan, Roenick was such an electrifying player. He had it all - score, hit, playmaking, colorful personality and tough as nails. What a hockey player. To this day I have never seen a player slap a one-timer from a high speed pass at the sharpest of angles right into the net - on multiple occasions. Extraordinary. This is well deserved. Congratulations Jeremy Roenick!

I was blessed as a kid growing up in Chicago to witness him playing this game, and it undoubtedly left an effect on me and why hockey is my favorite sport. I can honestly say this induction means more to me than any other induction in my lifetime because even with all his hot takes and mistakes he has made, you can hear it in his voice, and see it on his face just how much this means to him. I love you JR, thank you for bringing a brand of hockey to the world that we may never get to witness again.

I live in San Jose and Jeremy was our favorite player. Always saying hi to fans, always playing to the crowd. He made you feel like you were his teammate. I never saw him pass up an opportunity to say hi to a young fan, whether on or off the ice! My son is now 21 and has been playing juniors for a few years. He's now playing juniors in Canada. I always remind him to "Be a Roenick", and he knows EXACTLY what that means. Open doors for people, say "thank yous" and "your welcomes" AND always treat people with respect. In juniors, after each game, you have the privilege of signing autographs for young kids who basically think you're an NHL player or NHL bound. He knows that's when "be a Roenick" counts. That kid will remember that moment forever and that is an impact not everyone has. He knows to make it count. Good Job JR! You're one of the best!
@itsnotme079 күн бұрын
I hated seeing Roenick on the other team when they played my favorite team, the Boston Bruins. I love the Gordie Howe snow off the ice story! But seeing Roenick be inducted to the NHL Hockey Hall of Fame is so cool! He deserves it for sure. Congrats Jeremy!

Chicago fans will always remember the national anthem sung by Wayne Mesmer in the old stadium with this ELECTRIC and ENTHUSIASTIC young hockey player bolting around the ice with such anticipation and energy! If you were not excited to watch hockey- you were probably dead…. We can now forgive the NHL for delaying the most anticipated and important Hall of Fame Inductee ever. Love and Respect Brother!
