I just bought this lens for my Fujifilm X-Pro 3, street photography kit. I have the Fujifilm 23mm f2.0 and TT Artisan 27 f2.8 AF so it will be interesting to compare!

@@ConstantineSPhotography I have been a Limix MFT user for many years. 12 months ago I thought I would try Street Photography and bought a new GX9 and it was perfect for Street then 6 months ago I saw a Fujifilm X-Pro 3 for sale (Used) at a good price and decided to buy it (knowing that, if I didn’t like it, I could sell it for the same price or higher). 6 months later I still have the X-Pro 3 and I just sold the GX9. The first X mount lens I bought was the Fujinon 23mm f2.0 (water resistant), this is the benchmark street lens for X mount (and cost like $400 used). I then bought a 7 Artisans 35mm f1.2 Manual Lens then The TT Artisans 50mm f1.2 (I had this lens in MFT mount and loved the image) ….. these lenses were less than $200 each (New) This was my first Street Kit. In September I saw that TT Artisan had released their first AF lens so I ordered this 27mm f2.8 pancake lens for about $160, this lens is tiny and lightweight but the image quality and AF are perfectly acceptable (better than I was expecting). Last week I received my copy of the TT Artisan 35mm f1.8 AF, I haven’t used it outside yet but (compared to my other lenses) it weighs about the same as the Fujinon 23mm and is about the same size as the 50mm f1.2 (which is the heaviest lens). The 35mm AF f1.8 is a very plain lens (very cylindrical) whereas the others have curves and aperture rings but I do appreciate the stylish lens hood and the widest aperture of my AF lenses 🤷

Thanks for sharing! I have the ttartisan 50mm f1.2 too (e-mount), and I love the vintage look it produces. The 27mm and 35mm af lenses are a bit too sharp for me and lack characteristic (but objectively they have great optical performance at this price), but I also love how travel friendly they are.

@@ConstantineSPhotography I have had several f0.95 manual lenses (in MFT) and they had a nice vintage look but I sold them when I got the Fuji. I still have Lumix GH5s and G9 (purely for Video) and they each have a Atomos Ninja V to record to. I have 3 Meike Cine lenses in T2.2 and they are lovely for Daylight. For indoors I have 3 EF mount (f1.8) lenses (plus viltrox Speedboosters) which become f1.2

Very nice campus, did you go to this university? Another question how does it compere to the Sigma 18-50 mm 2,8 ? :) Thank you 😊
@ConstantineSPhotography
@ConstantineSPhotography Жыл бұрын
Thank you! No I don't go to this university I just go there for this photoshoot. I think both lenses are very sharp, but I like Sigma 1850 better because the af works better and more importantly its minimum focus distance is so much closer, sometimes I use it as a macro lens for details.

Thanks! Sure you can, but if you want more obvious background separation, you might want to use longer focal length.

@@ConstantineSPhotographythanks for your reply. Since i am on a limited budget, i am considering this or a 56mm for portrait. In your own opinion, what would you choose? Thanks in advance. Also, subscribed!

@ thanks for supporting, 56mm apsc is the standard focal length for portrait, 35apsc is more suitable for everyday use, it depends on what your main purpose is.
