If you apply the sectional lane usage correctly, center/zone 2 in this instance, the driver will be discouraged from creeping aside of you. Once you notice the drivers impatience and stand your ground, take note of how close the driver follows you. If the driver's following distance is uncomfortable to you, move into the far right side, or "zone 3", to allow the impatient driver to pass on your left. Never let a vehicle pass on your right side, blocking your escape route.

Just an input: Bikers do what they do because they are angry. Yes. Yet think about this. They are put at a higher risk than a car or a van. Someone who drives of their phone, doesn’t looks where they are going, or use their proper signals. If a biker gets hit from the side the chances of them leaving with no injury are very slim. If a car got hit with bike on the side their chances of being just fine are almost always. Bikers enforce the laws because bikers die more often lay than people in cars. That’s why people get into car accident. Motorcycle accidents happen rarely because motorcyclist are some of the most aware and paying attention. But their are people who drive cars who are very good at driving and pay attention to the road. Yes their are also bikers I know that make mistakes and don’t pay attention. That is just a handful though. I know bikers don’t need to break the cars mirrors as such, but people in cars and motorcycles who are irresponsible just keep doing what they are doing. Like raising a spoiled brat. They will keep doing what they do. Cutting people off, not using their indications properly, as much as not even looking where they are and texting. Bikers just feel at more harm because if that person fucks up it could result in a bikers death. Well they are doing what most people should enforcing the law. Because people who don’t do anything about it means they will just continue. They don’t have to break their mirrors but it go’s to show if you aren’t going to use what you have why have it. People always defend the car thinking that they can’t see the biker and that the biker is always going to be wrong. But I hope that person reading this will see it now. But they are probably going to comment ‘So? The bikers don’t have to slap the mirrors’ without reading this text.

Well let's just say they should use less speed & more awareness. I get that they're on a bike & it's more dangerous, but they shouldn't forget that they chose to ride a bike & there are crappy drivers everywhere. Don't get me wrong, people definitely need to be more cautious driving when a bike is near, but bikers also have to realize that not every driver will abide by that rule. There's also people who have rode a bike for a decade plus & only had a couple scary incidents. I'm sure if depends on where you're at, but a big factor is also going to be how reckless you are when riding. If you continually get into incidents like this then I think you should check out Dan the fireman's channel to learn the proper way to ride & how to access situations so you can avoid the problem all together.

Car drivers wonder why we get so aggressive sometimes. When you are in an accident in a car, you could end up with as little as a bruise in most cases. When you are in an accident on a bike, more than 50% of the time you go to the hospital. Your "oops" could mean our death.

What do you do if a circus elephant runs amock down the street? Go over there complaining about it, or do you keep your distance? Just remember no one cares. We chose a vehicle that most think is a meaningless toy. And they often lump us together as hooligans just for being on a bike. They assume we all are violent psychopaths, so any first response aggression on your part will confirm their feeling of being right in "cutting you off" or whatever.

You don’t need to be a biker very long to figure out we are the smallest denomination of the motor vehicle class, thus we are more vulnerable to injury when involved in an encounter with every other vehicle we share the road with. We are the ones laying dying, dead or severely injured in an accident and all the driver needs to say is, I “didn’t see the motorcycle”. As an operator of a motorcycle we are afforded the same use of the road as any other vehicle that is legally registered, insured, and driver licensed. That being said, it is the bikers attitude that usually gets him into conflict. Close calls, near misses, and other non contact encounters are to be expected when you ride your motorcycle. It happens to us all, revving your engine, smashing mirrors, tracking drivers down to give them a piece of your mind doesn’t help the cause, it’s called “Road Rage” and unfortunately motorcyclists are guilty of this as well. We, as a class of motor vehicle operators are judged not by the majority of the safe operators on the road, but by the “Edge or Fringe riders” doing wheelies in traffic, speeding through congestion weaving lane to lane, and riding in packs with the aim of creating some sort of social disturbance. It doesn’t take a person very long to find KZbin videos of bikers glorifying dangerous riding putting someone else’s life at risk by their stupidity. I watched a video of a biker absolutely riding beyond his skill level, pushing the envelope even for an experienced rider. He lost control on a corner and crashed... it was not easy to watch, but in the end his injuries although sever, only put him in the hospital and not the morgue. Can you imagine what would have been the outcome if the biker hit a vehicle in the process, or worse, what if his actions took the life of a person that happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. We, as bikers have a responsibility, it is simple, it’s the same as any other vehicle on the road, that is to operate your vehicle within the law. By the way, that doesn’t translate to operating to the limits of your motorcycles speed, your skill level (or lack there of). The title of these videos would suggest the biker is the victim...REALITY CHECK HERE....It is difficult to determine who is angry and who is stupid. This video is like watching fleas fighting over who owns the ass of the dog. Ride smart and ride safe.

The first guy on the bike pretty much sums up most guys on a bike driving around traffic splitting lanes at speed. The first dunce on the bike was at fault the person at the intersection most likely looked right spotted the car and the zippy the pin head comes popping around and up the middle . Folks on bikes usually speed and do the dodging traffic this means they are often not seen , which is their fault. But I'd rather have 100 motorcycle on the road than just 1 ass hole on a pedal bike going 20mph thinking they're the next Lance Armstrong.

So subsequent attempts at blocking the vehicle or putting yourself in the potential path of a vehicle that has already almost run you over is asinine Whether the driver of the van is incompetent, aggressive, or somehow feels the cyclist is the aggressor, physics will win.

If he's going straight he's in exactly the correct position. He's not blocking the lane if he's moving, the car needs to slow and pull into the lane behind him, not go through him. If he was on the side of the road, he'd be in the turn lane, then have to pull across a lane and into another to keep going straight. Ideally he should have been dead centre of the lane to make it clear where he was going.

I'm tired of seeing these videos vigilante bikers, flying down the road, fighting with people, breaking people's mirrors, etc. No ones perfect but, we have enough vigilantes in the world don't need any more. Everyone stay safe out there.

Legal or not, riding in the middle between two lanes is dangerous and idiotic. I'm surprised this sort of driving is even legal. Any accident the direct result of being between two lanes should be the bikes fault. Riders want to be seen and be treated equally on the road with cars...how about drive your motorcycle like you are in a car then? Follow the same rules and avoid many accidents.
