Tube Light Working Principle (please use speakers)

A fluorescent lamp, or fluorescent tube, is a low-pressure mercury-vapour gas-discharge lamp that uses fluorescence to produce visible light. An electric current in the gas excites mercury vapour, which produces short-wave ultraviolet light that then causes a phosphor coating on the inside of the lamp to glow.

Please Note: Ballast is always in phase wire as a standard practice. SWITCH has to be also in phase for safety purpose but here I connected it other way and still the tube light works.Capacitor here is to improve the power factor of the circuit

I have a small 30cm Fluorescent tube that works with no choke or starter.... also have a 60cm Fluorescent tube with broken choke, if i remove the choke will it work properly or there must be a choke on the bigger tubes ?

The capacitor in most common fluorescent lamp circuits is for power factor correction. Since there is a coil in the ballast, the capacitor is used to bring the power factor back towards unity.
