Tip: you struggled to get the last little bit of the bead over the rim right? At the end of spooning on your tire, put one spoon at the struggle point while you work the tire around. This spoon will be in place so you don't need to push the spoon between the tire and rim. It makes for a much easier finish.

it was where the rim lock was. my tip for that situation would be to undo your bead lock some more, and use the tyre spoon to push the bead lock in and the tyre just falls in to the right place.

What I’ve started doing it “pre-staging” 2 tire irons at the last section of tire. Once the bead is super tight, those irons are in place and make it super easy to finish without damaging the tube or liner in this case.

The good news is ,the tire bead does not seal on the rim. You could use rim protectors, if you wanted to prevent damage to the rim. Cheers. And thanks to Kyle!

It so funny literally I was like lemme sit down for a few minutes and watch some Dirt Bike Channel and then bang I click down on my laptop and I've been sat here a whole 30 minutes. I watched this video 3-4 times....read some other articles, watch the tubliss videos. In the end, I followed this video, on the front I drilled the hole at the 4rth spoke, in the rear it already had 3 factory holes, I said no way am I drilling a 4rth. It worked out just fine. These instructions are spot on. THe tape comes with new instructions saying to wrap 3 times. I used fake Armor All from Dollar General, worked fine. Bottom line, I learned a new easy way to mount tires, I always struggled and busted my knuckles and tore the beads before. This just worked. Tubliss is best, most solid system I have tried. I previously used 3M tape, Flex Seal, and had very mixed results. Super happy with the product, they have held air for 2 hours so far which means they are probably good to go. I will try to ride this weekend. I dont plan to use these under 14 lbs anyways, I just dont want to have to change tubes on the road....plug n go for me! Thanks for this video, it was spot on!

Great video, so many great tips. The most useful tip I found at about 21:11 where it’s almost the finish and you are just about sure you ordered the wrong size tyre 😁, using that 2nd tyre iron to knock the opposite side off the bead and further down into the rim make a huge difference, I found doing that multiple times really helped get this process over the line. Love all your videos

Interesting thought about using armor all instead of soapy water. The water usually evaporates too quickly to be useful. I use an instant detailer called slick mist. Not that it's any better or worse than armor all, it's just what I have sitting around. The spray bottle and shop towels are also convenient, and you can wipe down the bike afterwards. Double win!

Great video, something that I've found helps with tire install is to get a couple of small ratchet clamps (wood clamps) you can use them to pinch and hold the tire into the recess channel in the rim to help keep it there while spooning in the bead

Tubliss is amazing! Nice vid explaining the process and easy to fix a puncture like a nail.. I carry a plug repair set with co2 canistors to fill up the low pressure side. The kit is small and I carry it in my tool kit around my waist. Saved me on an enduro trip in Romania. I did ride for 30 mins on the trail with zero pressure which was no problem at all. The traction in those gnarly woods was amazing. In fact all the rentals had Tubliss and they never have a problem on them. Those bikes were ridden hard too.

Did this yesterday with no issues - did the mallet trick on the last bit too. Replaced the Armour-All with Silicone spray lubricant - got the nice pop when the bead seated & is holding air. Thanks for the video - was going to pay someone to do it but feel it's better to learn as I go through tyres quite often!

16:14 At this point, triple check that directional tires are rotating the right way and the tire is orientated according to the sidewall dot (if it exists) denoting the lightest part of tire. Match the lightest part of the tire with the heaviest part of the rim for better balancing.

Valves should be 4 spokes apart, drill a new hole and cap the other hole, that's what the little black button in the kit is for. You'll possibly tear the high pressure valve stem when installing if it's 180° from the rim lock

good video, one more trick I always use is to always put your next spoon in before levering the previous one.. When you get to the end like he did and couldn't get the spoon in that problem will be solved as you will have the last spoon waiting for you in place and not scratch the hell out of your black anodized rim!

Commenting on old video but got a tip. Instead of using razor knife to cut jagged hole and possibly your finger just use a common center punch or big nail set. Poke it through the hole push it down till tapered part meets rim and twist.... safely cuts the tape for you and makes a perfect hole.

Really liked your guide vs Nutech. One thing to point out I found that some tires are harder to install than others depending on the sidewall/structure. The Dunlop 606 is a bear. As a result, it's easier to pinch/damage the Tublis blader during the install. It's critical to be very carfull with tires you struggle with. Also, I've blown the bladder at the stem going over 120psi with the compressor. It's best to use the cycle pump as you've demonstrated.

When you used the mallet at the end is why I never leave the bead lock for last. And as a MC tech I’ve changed hundreds of half to 3/4 used tires to put new tubes in without tearing the tire/bead. So like you stated, a used tire can be reused if you do it properly. But much older than a few hour old tire. Hell even used tires on the old KTMs with two bead locks. Just gotta be patient and not take too big a bite.

If you are going to use Stan's sealant I would recommend releasing all of the pressure out of both chambers before adding Stan's. The goal of this is to allow the sealant to get in between the mating surfaces of the bead/rim/tubliss so that it can seal up any imperfections in those areas as well. I have seen people with very slow leaks due to these things not sealing up perfectly. This will generally solve those issues.

I have a tubliss front that loses about 1 psi in 12 hours so I just pump it up to 12 at the start of my ride and it’s super grippy on the way back to camp! Lol. Guy who installed it nicked the bead a little

Easy way to cut the hole in the rim tape. Heat a bicycle spoke or a peice of welding rod with a blowtorch and use it to melt the hole out, works perfect and maintains the integrity of the tape

Nice video! I have a Rabiconda, the bead breaker is handy for the last little tight bit shown at 22:15 🙂 Excellent tip with the Armor All. Soapy water works well, but it dries out pretty quickly. Armor All stays slippery for awhile!

Just finished up installing tubliss on both front n back tires on a crf450l. Tires had a good 200 miles on em and a fair amount was off road. The back tire put up a fight but the front was pretty easy and absolutely doused 'em in armor all and that green goop tire sealant stuff. So far no fast leaks, crossing fingers for no slow ones either but I guess that's pretty common.

One tip to help a tire head set, and I know this from changing car and truck tires roadside by hand, is putting a ratchet strap around it with a little tension as you air it up. If you get one that does t quite pop and seat on the shoulder of the rim perfectly, use your irons to pull it back down into drop center, lube it up, a little strap pressure circumferentially around it, then air it up using a compressor rapidly and voila

Great work dude, but here’s another pro tip i’ve learned from installing cush cores on my mtb, wich in close to impossible to fit a tire over unless you use this litle tip! Once you start to struggle to fit the last bit of bead over the rim, flip the wheel over and really push the bead on that side in to the middle of the rim, go a couple of turn around pushing the bead to the center, then flip the wheel over again and it will be a breeze to fit that last bit of tire on!! Great video, keep it up

Helpful hint. Use a rubber mallet in combination with tire iron. Really helps to get the final part of the tire over the rim.

Thanks for the video that was very helpfull and when I doubt I keep coming back at it ! Three things I'd like to add: - Could you make a video on how to remove a tire properly without damaging the Tubliss ? I find it hard to not catch the tubliss when removing a tire. - I have flipped my tires which were at 50% wear to get a fresher edge and they work properly with no pressure loss. Key seem to lub up the system before inflating the red blader. - Blacksoap mixture used for the house and plants work perfectly and is natural.

Kyle, I've got TUbliss on ten wheels across a few different bikes so, like you, I've done a million of them. What was the purpose of spraying the Armor All on the outside surface of the tire bead after the whole shebang was mounted up? That's not a surface that creates an air seal; the step that's similar in the TUbliss instructions actually has you pry the tire bead out of the way so that you can wet the outer surface of the high pressure liner bead, which like you mentioned at the beginning of the video creates the seal against the inside bead surface of the tire for the low pressure chamber. Only thing I can think of is that it aids in seating the tire bead, but I've never had a tire not seat after I've aired up the high pressure chamber. I actually wet down the whole outside of my inner liner (including the bead) with lubricant or sealant once it's mounted on the wheel, but before I install the tire. Does double duty that way...makes tire mounting easier and aids in making that low pressure chamber seal. Another item: if you mount everything up and have a leak (whenever I mount a tire I put ~25 psi in the low pressure chamber then check pressure again a couple/few hours later to verify no leaks) then be sure to do the "reset" procedure that's in the instructions, a couple times if necessary, before you bail and unmount and remount everything...that's always worked for me in the 1-in-10 times the assembly doesn't seal up well, and I've never had to do a disassembly/reassembly. Btw, I always run my race tires until they're about half worn (~20 hours) and then I move them over to my training/trail bike; never had a problem with those used tires sealing right back when reinstalled with TUbliss, so in my experience re-mounting well used tires works just fine. I don't know why anyone would say you can't use used tires with TUbliss, unless they've damaged the bead of the tire or high pressure liner being hamfisted with it; it's not like the inside bead of the tire wears out when the tread gets worn!

+1- the only thing I could see that aiding is the tire bead getting set easier? You should spray the entire high pressure tube and entire red liner before mounting as well as the inner sealing surface of the tire. I use a high heat thick silicone dielectric grease on the whole shebang, it's thick sticky stuff but doesn't break down with heat or water and you never need Slime or Stans.

Some of the seal does take place between the rim and the outside bead. I know this because I struggled some with getting my Motoz arena gummies to seal. They have small ridges on the outside of the bead. My local bikes parts store wont install tubliss on motoz tires.

You can’t push the tire down into the drop center because the tubliss inner bladder is there. This is the main reason it is more difficult to mount the tire. Doable as shown here but challenging. You’re welcome :)

I'd also leave valve cors out till the tires are on that's a mechanics tip from some one that does tire changes professionally also I can use a tire machine to do a full tie change like this in under a minute also they make a special tire soap that doesn't react with sealant

Pro tip: don't use the little nut that backs up against the cap on the high pressure side. If it backs itself off from the red cap, it will self tighten against the rim and tear the high pressure tube underneath. Happened to me twice. Just use the red cap.

TUBliss looks great. I have a KTM1190 with tubeless tires, unfortunately fitted with the standard pressure transducers and I don't see the TUBliss would work on these wheels without removing the transducers. Great Idea for off road bikes though. Great video thanks for shareing.

I like those tire stands for removal, but during install it helps to keep the tire in the drop center by standing on the sidewalk 180 from where you are finishing your last bites, plus last spot should be near the rim lock.

The version I have said the nut goes inside the rim with the red washer and then the knurled nut on the outside against the stem cover.
