@yasinramadan676618 күн бұрын
@@abimbolaowolabi4985 These bills have ZERO effect on Supreme Court action by Rivers and Lagos. The States could be persuaded to withdraw their suit, but if they persist, Supreme Court might agree with them. Supreme Court sets policy in addition to being FINAL stop on legal matters.

Why do people always think if their opinions or suggestions are not accepted then the conclusion is wrong it shouldn’t be like that those that take decisions consider multiple opinions and suggestions and implement what they think is better remember they’re human nothing is perfect but policies can be amended as issues arises and deal with it

NUPRC, NCC etc should sign-off the revenue assurance in their various technical domains. They should leave the revenue administration to the FRS shikena!. Secondly, public hearing is for the fine-tuning of proposals for the optimal benefit of the citizenry. At the end of the day, whether it is PIB, Tax Bill, etc; you still need the political will of the President and if possible, the NASS to push it through. Osifo did well with his submission here, by and large, Nigerian civil rights advocate should hold leadership accountable at all levels and not be fixated on just one level.

Now, Akpabio is talking. He should not sit there in the Senate and gets "bullied" by a section of the country because that section or region feels that the "Bill" would adversely affect their region more than other regions.

Have you read or heard the details of this bill? As a Southerner,I am surprised at the ignorance of those who think this bill will favour Southerners. There are other parts of the bill aside VAT. They plan to phase out TETFUND, which has helped out universities and prevented high university fees. Their plan is to convert it to loans. Nigerians who are excited about loans for students are delusional. Where are the jobs to pay back loans? We don't read.
@kolawoleadeniran322018 күн бұрын
@@ObjectiveObserver-xh4vkAbsolutely. Its funny people are criticising what they have not read. The only part of the bill I didn’t understand was the derivative part which seems reasonable after listening to the explanation put forward by the chairman of the reform committee.

The timing of VALUE ADDED TAX in this massive poor population is very very wrong. More people would be in a very very sad life if value added tax is imposed because prices would further rise in multiples.

It’s a big hall of shame for tinubu to allow Dangote and Bill Gate of United States to make a decision on how to run nigeria government. This bill will not favor any Nigerians because this bill will destroy nigeria economy with high inflation. Mind you, this bill is targeting some people and most billionaires in Nigeria will not pay their taxes because of who they know. Is Nigeria government tired of looting crude oil or are they trying to double up on their criminalities? ?

This is the great Festus Osifor. He has made his point by raising many concerns. The National Assembly should take an open-minded approach when assessing the bill and not ignore suggestions. Once the bill is passed, there will be no going back. TUC, LABOR have said their own and I know they have read the bill. Through out talk saun was trying to convince him that the bill good but he keep raising alarms

Lol.. Naija is too funny. Everyone is saying we should go & read bill hahaha. Nigerians already supply their own power, provide their own water, tar their own roads & now they have to go & read bill. I’ll be more than happy to read the bill if you pay me the allowance of a senator 🤦🏾♂️ instead of y’all to debate in a professional, public & transparent manner. The issue here is govt. is running on trust deficit with this govt. Go & fix that then we’ll trust more.
