Tucker so lacks awareness that he’s apparently already forgotten the tiny country of N. Vietnam did not lose to the US. The backward, undeveloped Taliban did not lose to the US. To say that Ukraine will lose to Russia in absolute terms because they’re outgunned and under populated lacks all credibility.

Tucker's weakness is deep, dull, rational conversation. He thrives on urgency, superficiality because this where he thrives, he's good at it. He's emotionally intelligent and perceptive without being linear or particularly rational. He can use words that seem rational, but he's primal, reactionary. His brain needs a lot of stimulation to stay in the moment. That's why he's always popping zyn. He might be better suited to being an ER professional or parachute infantry that has to excel in the moment, but he truly hates authority so that can't work.

An oligarchy can actually be worse than an autocracy, in that it is often less democratic (“representative”), and when things go wrong, as they are now, you don’t actually know who is responsible - it’s all being done behind a veil of mirrors.

I usually don't comment, I went to New York in 1984 at the age of 16, and it was pretty bad and not safe and clean at all. In the 80s there were no well paying jobs and minimal wage was 3.35 an hour. Most people in there 50s were working any job they could find. I grew up in a small town of 1000 people and meth amphetamines just came into missour it was not peaches and cream.

Like this? Also published were texts of Carlson regarding Donald Trump, with Carlson stating: "I hate him passionately". About Trump's presidency, he texted: "We're all pretending we've got a lot to show for it, because admitting what a disaster it's been is too tough to digest. But come on. There really isn't an upside to Trump."[514] In March 2023, Carlson said in an interview that he was "enraged that my private texts were pulled" for the court case, and asserted: "I love Trump … I think Trump is funny and insightful."

I like that Tucker interviewed Putin but I'm not sure he was the best representative to do the interview. He had no idea about the country or the history. He self admits this and in the interview he was basically unable to refute or question anything Putin said because again, he's completely oblivious to it all. It's like that uncle who never left his small town travels out of the country for the very first time and is amazed that the rest of the world has nice things. I also get the sense that he is constantly defending himself in every answer when Lex is just trying to understand certain things not question his morals, abilities, etc not just in this clip but in the full interview. If you don't care what people think then why go into self-defense mode so quickly especially when you're talking to Lex who is like the most easygoing person ever. It's funny because I think Tucker represents a large portion of this country who are just completely clueless overall. You can tell Lex gets frustrated by Tucker's inability to read the room and just give concise, thoughtful, honest answers. It's like he can't shake the programming from all those years on late night.

Russia backed North Vietnam and they won, US spent trillions to win a few 27 year long battles in Afghanistan and lost the war at the end. The US is the loser in the Korea conflict because we still have to annually spend money on military/navy on South Korea against North Korea while China/Russia don't even need to spend any dimes on North Korea. The US needs to be involved but with totally different approach and strategy. If we know which we very much know now that we can only win short term battles in certain regions but not long term wars, then try to strike a great deal at the beginning which the proxy countries will have to give up what might seem to be a lot initially but in hindsight will look like complete victory without millions dead, still much less loss of territories otherwise.

Who tf has been saying "Ukraine is going to win this war" since the beginning? I'm not being facetious: Can anyone actually name a single person? Because I have heard the complete opposite from left and right-wing media alike for 2 years now: "Ukraine is holding for now but it will likely last only about 3 months," then it was, "Ukraine has lasted for 6 months, but their collapse is imminent," then it was, "Ukraine has lasted almost a year, but the winter is coming now and they will be defeated" -- remember that? all that "they cannot last the winter" going on lol. Now it is two years in, and the conversation has slightly evolved. One side says: "They've lasted two years, at this point Ukraine can possibly win if we continue to send aid and keep sanctions on Russia." The other side hasn't changed at all and says (Tucker's side): "Ukraine can't possibly win!" Either way, saying "Everyone's been saying Ukraine was going to win from the beginning" is the most blatant, textbook example of a "straw man argument" I have ever heard. Nobody has been saying that.

Nato does not have the capacity or capability or the willingness to commit to that kind of production. the funny irony that might have escaped you is that North Vietnam was backed by the Russians and South Vietnam was backed by the US and US lost. Russia also backed a lot of Middle East proxy wars against the US which we did win a few battles here and there but ended up losing trillions and trillions of dollars and lost the war in the end. Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria are other painful examples. I pray for Ukraine, having escaped from a communist country, I hate anything that is communist like China or Russia, but Ukraine is not surviving an Afghanistan like 27 year war. it is like you're a parent with scrawny kids trying to fight against Hulk Hogan and every time Hulk Hogan breaks your kids arm you would put in another one of your kids to fight and go through the same motion. After all the kids have been injured and and still nursing their broken arm, legs and heads, it will get to the part where you have to use all the kids to fight while hobbled with injuries to be all slaughtered....the only other alternative in this case is you step in to fight the Hulk at the beginning or at the end after your kids were slaughtered, but in this Ukrainian conflict that means nuclear war. You can win a proxy war with Russian if Russia is backing someone but you can't win a proxy war if it is Russia that is fighting, again this means the only way is to go head-on.

US media is media for profit, it is not state media, not by a long shot. Do not conflate them. For profit means pandering to an audience and Tucker panders to you. it was very insane to me how many people were so brutally against an interview with Putin, im glad that Tucker did it. I think it was a genuine source of info exactly because Tucker did stray from his prep and just let Putin talk and it showed, that he really is a person deeply lost in past grievences and in pseudo-history. He is a nationalistic russian imperialist first and foremost and Tucker laid it bare for the world to see. The question now is not about what should NATO have done differently not to provoke the poor russian, but rather if we wish to fight the russian imperialists like we fought the nazis. Thats the only question that remains for me after this interview.
