As of right now, yes! I still use a Mikro MK3 myself and haven't found anything yet that beats it in terms of pad quality. If I did find anything better, I would immediately start using it and probably make a new video recommending it.

Have you ever tried a Zendrum? They are great, I used to play on one. Very good sensitivity and control, I’m not sure if any pads match it, but I haven’t played a maschine yet. Don’t have it anymore, considering getting one again, or maybe one of these.

I've never tried the Maschine pads, how would you compare them to something like a launchpad pro or ableton push?
@DragonFingerDrums
@DragonFingerDrums Жыл бұрын
Personally I much prefer the large pads on the Maschine compared to the small pads on the Launchpad or Push. Since I'm coming from acoustic drumming, the larger surface area feels more like a little drum head, and gives me plenty of space to play fast rolls and flams. The Maschine pads are the most responsive and sensitive pads I've ever tried, so that's why I recommend them highest.

Maschine MK3 micro is the best professional pad: beat making for the price ever!!!! It’s exactly the same as the maschine MK3 fully but only without the 2 screens! And fewer knobs. So for the price you can’t find better than for absolutely sure!

If you can't get the MK3, the MK2 still has fantastic pads! The pads on the MK3 are a little bigger so they're easier and smoother to play, but I had a Maschine Mikro MK2 for several years as my first finger drumming controller and it was awesome. I'd say go for it!

⚠️ Can I play finger drums on a keyboard and feel good ? I am a keyboardist. Would I need to purchase a pad controller ? Is it more sturdy and adequate, or a keyboard is as sturdy as ? Well, in my Country, Brazil, it's costing like U$1000 for the one you use. Here it's very expensive ! 😮

@@bullpup1337 You're right. The hand position is odd when playing drums. Perhaps on pads would be less stressful. But in my case I would create some rhythms for music, not playing drums as a drummer. But until be playing fine, takes a lot of practice.

I have an Ableton Push 2. What do you think about for finger drumming ?
@DragonFingerDrums
@DragonFingerDrums Жыл бұрын
I've only tried the Push 2 a couple times, I don't love the pad sensitivity but it's not horrible, for me the worst part is the small pads though. There are definitely some finger drummers who play really well with the small 64-pad controllers, because that's what they started with. I really love the big pads of the Maschine because I can use multiple fingers on one pad really quickly, even do flams on a single pad. It also gives more space so you don't accidentally hit 2 pads at once, and to me it feels more like I'm hitting little drums as opposed to the tiny pads on the Push. So I would recommend the Maschine Mikro as my first choice!

Unfortunately there aren't any standalone pad controllers that can run drum emulator software, which is the best option for realistic finger drumming. With a standalone controller, you only have access to one-shot samples, which won't sound or feel realistic, although they're okay for beginners.

Thanks so much for the kind words! I honestly just switched to the Mikro because it’s smaller, the only feature I use on the Maschine is the pads themselves so I don’t need any of the additional features. Considering that I travel a lot it made more sense for me to use a Mikro, but both controllers are equally great with the same pads, the full size MK3 just has more software control features that I don’t need.

@shobaaddai6004
@shobaaddai6004 Жыл бұрын
Best work around I’ve found for that generally relatable problem you’ve described. Get a solid 4x4 pad controller of your likening ideally with standard midi out (if not will need additional usb MIDI host separately) and pair it with a Novation Circuit Rhythm for minimal and fairly limited but on the go and screen less finger drumming running off battery, biggest draw back for me with this setup aside from the quite pricey buy in depending on what you already have, is that the Circuits only work with mono samples. Biggest bummer for me personally, that and that the midi implementation for the 8 voices you have is a lil finicky to setup.
@TyQuinn

@@shobaaddai6004 I actually ended up biting the bullet and going for the Maschine Plus. I just couldn't find any other pad surface that I liked.
