Thanks for the great video. I’m considering this and a few other foldable kayaks. Most videos on KZbin just show it being put together followed by 10 seconds on a calm lake. You show it actually being used, and on pretty rough water. It looked difficult on the rough waters, but you didn’t sink!

Hi Griffin! Thanks for watching! I have quite a lot of videos of putting the Tucktec together 😅 and we tested it a lot over here and even taken it camping. Over here, we can only use it in the ocean and went on all different conditions (of course we were careful too). Hope you enjoy the Tucktec as much as us!

Huh, these are pretty cool!! I like that they're hard-shelled, yet easy to store if you don't have much room. I may just have to get one

Hi! Once you get the hang of it, you can set it up within a few minutes! Keep in mind they’re best in calmer waters :) hope you enjoy these kayaks as much as me!

Hey, very much enjoy your videos. I am new to kayaking and so far have been borrowing one when I visit friends. Seriously considering buying a Tucktec since it will fit in my condo and small car. Looks like they have changed the seat and the side assemblies in 2021. Thanks for sharing your videos. Looks like you are having great fun and the scenery in beautiful!

Hi Kristen! Thanks so much for watching! I’ve always wanted to buy a kayak but couldn’t fit in my apartment also. But when I saw the Tucktec, I got it straight away and I’m loving it. I hope it brings you a lot of joy as it has for me ☺️☺️

Get you a manual hand bilge pump. If you get any water that splashes in, you can pump it out quickly and easily. Any small amount of water left in bottom a sponge can absorb. Looked like a fun time👍

Very cool! I am expecting mine soon. How did you attach the phone to the kayak while paddling please?
@Fishaholicboy2 жыл бұрын
Great! You will have so much fun with the Tucktec. I used a suction cup as it sticks to the Tucktec really well. For additional security, I had a line to tie it up so if it every came loose, it would still be attached. Hope it helps!

Awesome video! I'm considering whether to buy Tucktec. If the Tucktec kayak capsizes in open ocean, is there a good way to pour out all the water and get on the boat?
@Fishaholicboy2 жыл бұрын
Hi! Thanks for watching and really happy you're interested in the Tucktec. I have to say, if you capsize and the cockpit fills up with water, it is extremely difficult to get back in. I have tried it and failed 😅 But frankly, it is a very stable kayak and if you're paddling in normal conditions, I don't think you would flip. The Tucktec was my first kayak and I have not yet flipped with it unless intentional. But with that in mind, I always stay close to shore (the distance you can swim) and always make sure to check the weather. The great thing is that the Tucktec floats even if its full of water. I have another video for weather conditions here if you missed it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pZiYfolro8uhm8k it has a few HK related apps :) hope it helps!

It is interesting to see how it is handled in a little rougher water. Just in case you flip the kayak, can you turn is over and climb back into it? 😄
@Fishaholicboy3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jess! Honestly I haven’t flipped yet (touch wood).. I might have to test it in a controlled environment. Just theoretically, I would imagine it to be difficult to climb back in as it will fill up with water.. will test it and maybe do a video :) I’d say.. avoid rougher waters until you get comfortable with it!

Jess… there’s a video out showing how to get back in the Tucktec kayak if you flip. Can you message me on IG?

Thanks for sharing! The kayak noob I am: Are there several ways to enter or leave the Tucktec? A lot of videos spare these parts. You also only show one person entering the kayak... Greetings from europe!
@Fishaholicboy3 жыл бұрын
Hi! I’m a noob also! Getting in is easy.. getting out isn’t so easy. I usually go to a beach or a rocky shore to get out. I won’t try to get off on a pier unless I’m more confident. I’m 184cm so it’s a little hard for me. You’ll definitely get your feet wet but that’s the fun bit :) there’s a lady getting out of the kayak in the first two mins of the video.

“Just a short journey across this harbor” (8.6km……almost died) 😂😂😂 That would be me, too. Yeah, I had noticed you had the straps holding the foam bumpers on wrong. I’m glad you corrected that. (Funny, I’ve never even seen one, but after watching so many KZbin videos about them, I feel like I could easily assemble one.) Lastly, I agree that the one kayak looks orange. I’m not sure why, but Tucktec refers to it as dark yellow. Just Fyi, , the only colors they offer now are green, blue, dark yellow and tan. I’ll probably get the blue one.
@Fishaholicboy3 жыл бұрын
Its really easy to assemble! If you want other colours, I’d message Pete (pete@tuctec.com). I’m pretty sure they have other colours also but I love the blue too! Regarding the dark yellow.. I call it gold now 😂

@Fishaholicboy2 жыл бұрын
Hi! I used it for fishing quite a few times. You can see some fishing here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z2GTonWFg5iAa7s at 8:50 The Tucktec has alot of room for fishing gear and it's very stable as it is a recreational kayak. I wouldn't go to the open ocean but inlets and rivers should be fine. But please make sure you have all the safety equipment too! If you’re in HK, you can buy from piscateus.com

@Fishaholicboy3 жыл бұрын
Hi KC! The day we went out for this video, it was very windy and current was strong but we managed. It was from Ma On Shan to Tai Mei Tuk. It's not really made for open waters.. Do you have experience with kayaks? if not, I'd say start in calm waters and build up from there. This is my first kayak so I'm still learning! But make sure you get a life vest, always!

@@Fishaholicboy hi fishaholicboy, normally we rent sit-on-top or T艇 from water sport ctr, it really limits the place of departure, have u been to Wong Chuk Kok Tsui (鬼手岩) or open water place like Tiu Chung Chau (吊鐘洲), Basalt Island (火石洲) with Tucktec?
@Fishaholicboy3 жыл бұрын
Hi, I haven't tried those areas yet but really want to try it one day. I might soon! Purely from the map, i think Wong Chuk Kok Tsui is no problem. For Tiu Chui Chau, I think if you're close to shore, it should be ok. Basalt Island seems difficult. But then again, it all depends on the water conditions. Renting is definitely restricting and especially if you go during peak times. I got the Tucktec so I can go from anywhere :)
