I am a owner of Three Tudor watches, i do like this Tudor Ranger watch, i like its simple clear dial, White on Black makes for such quick easy reading at a glance, and a well built and rugged, accurate time keeper, which will last a life time.. A nice video Thanks 👍 AU

Best bracelet on the market 20 mm, oyster, tapering (not stepped like on the 58) fully brushed, no rivets, T-fit clasp, ceramic, ball bearings…. Checks every box.

Had mine for 3 months now. I absolutely love it...I would gladly take it over the 39mm Explorer because the printed indices and brushed surfaces give it a more tool-field watch esthetic which is just what I was looking for. BZ Tudor!

If you look at the San Martin homage version of this watch with applied indices, I think you might change your mind about wishing the Ranger had applied indices. Something just looks off with applied indices. The method that Tudor uses to paint the dial is pretty cool - they first paint a silicon balloon and then press it onto the watch face.

I can see that. Since making this video I have changed my tune and I like the dial the way it is. I've added a Rolex Explorer to my collection, and seeing both side to side I can see the intent of the Ranger's design with more clarity.

I have a 36mm Rolex Explorer and I love the watch to death but I'd love to scoop up a Ranger too. Have a little bro/big bro combo. I baby the Rolex too much cause of cost and what it's value is. A daily "beater" even though it's not would be nice to have. Great video my man!

It's funny, we were just talking about this topic the other day. For me there is definitely a point where a watch gets too expensive to truly enjoy. Even if the watch is objectively better in every way, if it doesn't get any real wrist time then it's all for naught. I think the Ranger is that perfect middle ground of Swiss name brand luxury and rugged everyday wearability 👌

@@degenerateWA it’s so true! I felt the same way about any Grand Seiko I had. They were just so well finished that I was always afraid of beating them up. The Rolex is more about its value and artificial scarcity. I love the Ranger and hope to get one soon as you said, it’s a rugged nice watch.

Speaking about the watch, it's ok, Tudor could make it a bit smaller in size....for a field watches is always ''a smaller is better'' because that's not a pilot watch, I mean, it should be legible but not on your way. A dial is not ''boring'' but it's made with a purpose, and a purpose is ''if you don't need it, don't put it on the dial''...it's perfect, indices too. Speaking about the movement, and all that ''in house situation'' personally I don't see it being any better in a field using than any mechanical watch (which is in my opinion absolutely the most reliable thing ever made in terms of a field usage, because there's nothing to break, or to let you down), especially not better than a quartz. Oh yes, I forgot something....in that price range (3000 USD, or more) Tudor wouldn't get a headache if they drilled that lugs.....and a bit of a protection for a crown. Like off course, as usually

I love this watch and would have gotten it but the price was over my watch budget, per my wife 😏, so I ended up getting a Sinn 556 A RS earlier this year. Very similar but not quite the same. I had gotten an Aqua Terra before the 556 so I was tapped out. 😕 But this Tudor is my fav Tudor as well. The Pelagos is a close second.

"I find that I could end it here and be perfectly content" - a phrase we've all uttered, and sometimes even believed 🤣 The Ranger appeals, but I've already got a BB 41 Heritage silver dial (the smiley SW200 one) which is pretty much the same thing as a basic 3 hander all day watch. Desperately needs a glidelock clasp or half links though...

Facts 🤣 The smiley 41/36 is high on my list. To me that is such a class watch. I've teased the idea of getting a 2023 black bay but the value proposition isn't there for me yet. I'll let the hype die down and perhaps score a deal in a year.

@@degenerateWA Personally I think it's sailed past being a value proposition with the price now being over 3k GBP. I've been idly wondering whether the smiley version has the makings of a future classic. It has most of the ingredients - more timeless design compared with the retro look of the normal BB, somewhat overlooked, quirky dial with the smiley text, and one of the last cheap Tudors before they started going upmarket.

The Ranger is total class. Perfect in every way. You can pass this classic down to your kids. Probably the best value out there. 70 hour power reserve. Plus or minus 1 second per day. It says Tudor, Geneva, and Ranger on the dial. What else needs to be said?

Can't argue with you there. That is where I think the Ranger has the most room to grow. Hopefully when Tudor stops focusing on the GD black bay we can see some efforts put towards other watches lol.

Applied indices are not a luxury feature, as even cheap and nasty Aliexpress watches have them, it’s a design choice. This is an all out rugged tool watch, and it doesn’t need shiny and blingy accents. IMO it’s perfect as it is,.

@@degenerateWA No reason to act like a condescending prick. Most ADs I talked to didn‘t have the Ranger after the first batch was sold out, which happened very quickly. The version before the new Ranger was discontinued because sales had been pretty low. So they didn‘t have enough watches when it was released. Being on a list for a Submariner is a different story. That‘s why I don‘t do this anymore.

@@degenerateWA look up 1940s aircraft altimeters. I am familiar with them, and there us a clear resemblance. Painted numerals. Basically identical. Rolex does fine jewellery. Tudor Ranger is much more utilitarian.

I think it's a lovely watch but it would be improved with 1 more step...can we please add the option of another 3 or 4 colors on the face...I know that blue, green, and red are all very popular so for the guys that are into that I say why not...but if your more into low key obviously theirs black, but I'd like to see a nice shade of grey also...everyone can win so why not 🤔

The AD will sell you anything, when they have it. My AD didn‘t have a Ranger at the time. They called me, when they had one. Call this a wait list or whatever. And what makes you think Rolex is „better“ than Tudor? In what way? So you used the AD to see the watch in real life, and then called Yomashop of all things to buy it? Seriously?!

@@degenerateWA - Of course, that’s your prerogative. But it’s a little heavy-handed to suggest that people shouldn’t support retailers who are forced to rely on waiting lists to accommodate buyers. The manufacturers ration the units, and authorized retailers don’t have a choice. If you really want to make a statement based on principle, boycott the brand. Limiting supply is a core stratagem of the Rolex/Tudor playbook.

Just ordered mine from Jomashop $3177.20 out the door including taxes. Hoping to have it on my wrist by 1/10/23. I almost bought the Omega Railmaster for $3200 down from $4700 but didn’t feel it was as wearable in all situations.
