Seriously how can anyone hate on this guy??!! He, his partner and other family members work so hard for us to relax and enjoy his content, it’s relaxed, composed, open minded and most of all FUN to watch another person share their life and passions. For every 1000 that LOVE this content their will be the few that have something just outright negative to say. It's that very excitement and enthusiasm that draws me to both of Freddie's channels. Hi Freddie, Basil from Washington State here. I’ve got a 1978 BMW R80/7, and would think nothing of taking it on an 800 mile round trip to Eastern Oregon, for example. Easy to work on, easy to get parts, and it does everything I need it to. Almost 100,000 miles on the clock and never touched the engine. (OK, now I’ve just jinxed myself…) Cheers!

We love your enthusiasm Freddie, it's your channel say what you want, love the bikes you love. Isn't getting excited by bikes what biking is all about. That next bike which hits the spot and you do the miles until another one catches your eye. Keep doing what you both do very well. My advanced driving pass for my car has made no difference on any insurance I've had.

Unless I misunderstood, are you saying advanced driving hasn't reduced your motorcycle insurance?? I wouldn't have expected an advanced license for a car would have an impact on your bike insurance. Freddie I got to tell you, I really don’t care about a lot of the bikes you talk about. There not my style, I’ll never buy one. But your childlike Enthusiasm for all of them makes me very happy to watch. Every bike is your favorite, and if possible you would buy them all. Don’t ever change. Now when it comes to old bikes, you just can’t beat Harley. I have 1948 and 1998 and I can get parts for them from multiple sources. Plus the aftermarket, swapmeets, and even the dealer in some cases. BMW’s are fine machines. But they don’t hold a candle to Harley’s old parts availability.

@robertscheinost179Ай бұрын
"We're not looking for big money for these bikes." Quite rightly correct, Freddie. That's why I have 6 BMW airheads in my vintage bike collection. One day, these bikes are going to be worth a lot of money. The "problem" is they last 150,000 miles and then can be rebuilt. Add in the bullet proof reliability of the /5, /6, and /7 models and it makes for a bike that a grandfather can pass down to their grandchildren. Let the "newbys" buy the brand new junk (AKA BSA 650). I buy, restore and sell BMWs as fast as I can find them. Any part you need can be found from multiple sources around the world. I've been enjoying these bikes for 52 years. I dare say that anybody that puts miles on 2 wheels and had a BMW slash series agrees with my statements. Cheers!

Hi, I didn't think anyone could write such things . I love your channel and the way you run it, that class and joy full of enthusiasm when you talk about banana wine from Tenerife or review the motorbikes of my dear Royal Enfield ( unfortunately no one pays me to promote the brand in this commentary either ) . We respect your work, love the videos visually and sonically and have full affection for you and Monica - even though we don't know each other, I would love to have a coffee with you and my partner Kasia. Keep that love for motorbikes , and that complete joy - these are qualities that are completely pushed out of society and you can feel the passion and joy in your life . And I beg you not to lose it because of a few envious people , because all the rest are with you and keeping their fingers crossed . And by the way I CANNOT WAIT for a review of the Classic 650 because thanks to you I got to know the brand , I have watched videos from Lithuania with the classic 350 a million times and your opinion is one of the most valuable for me when it comes to motorbikes . For the first time I wrote something more than "thanks Freddie" under your video and forgive my English - I write in emotion and do my best to sound correct 😊 Piotr

Wow, the first contributor (putting it generously) about your 'relationship' with Royal Enfield, owes you a major apology. With absolutely zero factual evidence he has besmirched your integrity and made accusations that he cannot and did not substantiate. No-one wants to lose subscribers, but you can surely live without that one. Hopefully no-one else believes his near-libellous comments about you being in Royal Enfield's pocket or being a paid advocate for them. Anyone who has watched your channel for any length of time knows how enthusiastic you are about many things - that's part of the charm of your channel. Good riddance to that particular key-board warrior (other words starting with W and ending in R may be applicable) and please carry on as you are.

Freddie, if it helps, I agree with your love of Royal Enfields, Bonnevilles, and the reasons for your enthusiasm. I’m told that if a bike doesn’t have a TFT screen and 140bhp or whatever, it’s rubbish! The truth is that time on a pleasant bike is better than some ‘on paper’ bragging numbers. That pleasant bike might be a Harley in America, a BMW S1000RR on a track day, or a Royal Enfield 350 for a bimble through Europe with no time constraints. Shame you’re have someone who threatens to unsubscribe because they don’t agree with you, who do they think they are!

Freddie, these ignorant people you seem to always have in some of the comments really p!$$ me off. Your enthusiasm for Enfields and motorcycles in general is clearly out of passion for biking. I think everybody is just so used to the “cardboard cutouts” on the online motorcycle community that it makes your passion shine through even more. People who do reviews and only focus on all the numbers and specs of the bikes, and compare everything using the specs alone. You are one of the very few reviewers who truly understand the heart, sole and spirit of biking. And because of how polite you always are I feel the need to stand up to these people who are saying these nasty and untrue things. You and Monica run the best biking channel on KZbin hands down. And If people don’t like your passion and enthusiasm for the subject. They can go watch one of the thousands of other bike channels with no real passion for biking.

This is for Charlie, I have the same dilemma at 162cm trying to find a touring bike. I am on my first bike as well a 2023 Honda Rebel 500. Great bike but I have to do mods, seat + handle bars + windshield + bags which are not OEM so it took a lot of trial and error. My next bike has to have cruise control :) while Freddie’s choice is pretty good, my vote is the BMW R18. It has so many modifications from OEM with different windshield sizes to seats and reverse gear, mid controls and the feel of metal. I wish more bikes had Kawasaki’s Ergo-Fit. It is going to take time and money to make a motorcycle fit the extremes of too short and too tall riders.

Hi Freddie, regarding the Honda Rebel 1100 that is this week’s bike of the week, my wife has the Rebel 500 and I have the Triumph Speedmaster. My Speedmaster is so much more comfortable than her Rebel. The foot pegs are already forward and the seat is extremely comfortable right from the factory. There was no need to make those modes on my bike. Her bike is a very hard ride in comparison and at 5’9” I feel very cramped on her bike so much so that I really don’t like it when I have to ride it. Tell that rider to really check the Speedmaster if he wants a great riding bike.

I went UK to Corfu and back in the winter of 2015/16 on a Yamaha mt07. Panniers, top box and tank bag. Comfortable and faultless. Fast enough, yet economical. I'm only 5' 6" tall. No problem with the seat hight. I did get a "Noddy screen" fitted for the return journey. Wind on a naked bike at over 85 mph for long periods being the issue there. I've never ridden anything bigger than a 700. And I honestly can't see the point. Bikes for me are about the enjoyment of riding. The ease at which you can get close to your destination, without struggling to find a parking spot. And economy. I want 60 mpg at least. If that isn't an issue I'd take a car. I'm living on Corfu now. I do odd jobs and gardening. I strap my tools (including a strimmer) to the bike. And I'm away. And I know that getting to jobs isn't eating into the pittance I get paid as much as if I had to use 4 wheel transport. Bikes can be so versatile. The more basic they are the better. Cheers!

Great stuff as usual Freddie. I fancy a classic BMW but hopeless with spanner’s so maybe not a good idea. Re IAM course, I passed it and it made no difference to my premium. Devitts said “meh”. I’ve got 9 years NCB clean licence and I’m 63 and still pay £137 for my Vstrom 650. Cheers

Great watch as usual. Don’t spend anytime in the negatives. Anyway, here’s a question. Do you think the RE Shotgun will now fade away? I like it, and fancied one, but 650 Classic and Bear now in the frame…

This is a very interesting question that I hadn’t considered… Possibly, yes

I have a 1978 BMW R60/7. In the UK parts are readily available from Motorworks and Motobins. While my Triumph Trident660 is quicker the BMW is more comfortable for a long ride. I had to relearn things I had forgotten in order to maintain the ignition and carburettors but it has been fun.

Interesting, thanks for taking the time on those quotes, I was gutted when I lost my NCB as I took longer than a 2 year break at riding, but you are right, minimal impact really. I thought of doing IAM for my own benefit or advanced riding, but seems insurance co's don't care about it.

Freddie ur not wrong bmw r the toughest and second to none. Have had r80st and loved that bike. Then i found k100...wow! Fast enough n even tougher. All year round riding in ice, snow, rain etc. Cleaned only for servicing and mot each year. Enfield 650 classic at nec looks awesome and on my shopping list in future. Keep up the honest good work and thank you ..

Anyone that has watched more than a couple of your videos would know that you are passionate about many brands. BMW, Harley, Moto Guzzi, Suzuki and Honda spring to mind. If they were all paying you, you'd be a millionaire! In truth bikes are so good nowadays that I suspect that like me, the best bike is the one you are riding, or have just ridden. Ignore the detractors and keep providing interesting passionate content.

Flame suit on; I have never had insurance apart from what is legal ( i you must have it in order to ride and often included in rego) Had quite a few accidents, never hit or have been hit by another vehicle and I will almost say if you ride defensively its damn near impossible to hit something and IF you ride an old clunker ( 1980 royal enfield 350 daily driver ) it isnt going to be stolen Just taken it off the road the other day to be refreshed and modification to the frame might respray it red this time

As Taylor Swift put it …. Say it in the street it’s a knockout ….say it in a tweet it’s a cop out … it’s easy to express opinions online without fear of being found out . Keep it up Freddie I enjoy my coffee with Freddie and Monica on Sundays and Tuesdays 👍👍

Agree on the Rebel 1100, it looks like a great allround bike. I also like the new Enfield bikes, more power and a retro yet modern look. Looking forward to a review of yours when you can get your hands on them! (hope it's the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650, that is one NICE looking bike!)

I feel bad now that you read my comment out, I do agree that more people should ride older bikes!

I had a message from Frank in Australia he has a 1974 R90S from new and he has done 468,300km (290,988 miles) which i think is quite impressive . I have 4 Airheads from a 1961 R60 to a 1992 R100R they are quite easy to work on even the carbs .
