Hello again Tim and Melanie I don't know how did I miss this one video?! While waiting for your new posts, I decided to go through your old ones... Very nice dirty kitchen indeed and the cost was reasonable if I may say so. Enjoy your extended stay in Boracay and Good luck. Be safe, stay safe, and keep distance! Best regards/Ned👍👍

The problem with construction here is that the soil is rather poor to be building in due to the high amount of play that expands and contract with the wet and dry seasons. This puts incredible strain on the house which in turns causes everything to buckle and or sink. If you look at 99% of the construction here - they vertical concrete posts are sunk into the ground with footers as per code. Now this is key to where the error happens. Building a home with reinforced posts with footers as per code is going to cause the above noted problem. To mitigate this one must treat the foundation as one would treat the horizontal reinforced posts that join the vertical posts for the second floor and or roof. Meaning, you need to pour reinforced concrete horizontally in the ground in order that every axis (where a post shall be built vertically is sported via a grid like pattern. Use of steel I beams are also ideal - though cost can be a major issue in the bottom line for most home builders.

I did not want to spend too much, since I do not own the land... but it turned out pretty well. Cheaper than renting. 😀

I just watched this whole playlist for the house. I have a few questions. Where does the water drain from the sinks? Does it all go to the septic tank? How often do you have to get that septic tank cleaned/drained? How much does it cost?
@TitoTimTravels6 жыл бұрын
In our apartment, in the city the sinks and shower drained out to the storm drain. Only the toilet was on a septic tank. I am sure they have to clean it out eventually but I do not know how often. Out in the province I know someone whose septic tank filled (after 15 years) and they are digging a new one. Here, at our house the sinks and shower drain out to the yard (the ducks love it). We have a very large septic tank but I have no idea what we will do when it fills up... been in the house 3 years, so far ha ha 😀🍹🇵🇭

Thanks for reply. What are they doing with the old septic tank? Leaving it in the ground?
@TitoTimTravels6 жыл бұрын
Yep. They cut the pipe and ran it to the new tank.

Tito Tim's Videos there is someone you can pay to get the water from the septic tank for you. Ask the people there

I have been trying to do that on the construction, grocery, and restaurant vids. Everyone wants to know the price, I know before I moved I was always asking prices too ha ha 😀

Only in the Philippines do they build from the top - dow.! lol Looks good Tim! I especially like that screen idea.

It was explained to me that the columns and roof are the real structure. The walls are not load bearing, so they can be built later - and the material used are optional. 😀

Did you pick that lovely shade of green paint? Haha. I wonder if they even sell beige or off-white paint in the Philippines.
@TitoTimTravels6 жыл бұрын
They do sell lighter colors, but they are rarely used ha ha. I never get involved in the color choices. The green is better than the yellow... 😀
