Wow Sierra could not contain her excitement she was one happy lady. Billy I could see your excitement as well, you are just a little more reserve about it, but here is some free advice. Don't miss out on jumping for joy with Sierra life goes by quick and you will cherish those memories it will be a lot of fun. My wife and I are looking at options for adventures we will be traveling, camping ,sailing, and having fun after raising 5 kids being married together for 41 years. I found parts of the South Carolina ICW to be more challenging than all of Georgia. I just got into NC yesterday. Found this anchorage that I was sweating bullets all the way in. At low tide, I have less than a foot under the keel. - S/V Celtic Star

Tip for efficient cooking, you really need a decent Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker. Single burner, not much water to heat up, and very fast cooking. Just remember to have a sink full,of cool seawater to pop it into to help it de pressurise fast. It will pay for itself in no time. DO NOT attempt to open it when still at pressure. I saw someone paint and texture their Kitchen Ceiling with Stew, because they forgot that due to being so very hungry. Yep, that idiot was me. 😅

Just as I was about to wonder what the lead time was, Phil said two years from the time of placing the order. So about the same amount of lead time as for a Freeman or Hammercat. Gorgeous sailing cat! Thanks for taking us along for the ride.

Need to grab the line and pull it in hand over hand. Watch some early Delos. They pull so fast the fish slides across the top of the water. Less time for the sharks to get your fish.

Great drone footage in the ICW in Georgia - I also really liked that area, I thought it was beautiful (tho almost got eaten alive anchored out in the salt marshes). Really looking forward to the videos when you guys get your 1160 - you'll be doing everything about 1-year before we get ours, so it's going to be great to see the ups and downs of dealing with the new boat.

I admit I teared up seeing this. This was my gorgeous sloop - not a yawl like this, and a shallow draft long keel, rather than a drop keel. mine had been upgraded with a new Yanmar 22 hp, not enough hours to run in, full epoxy barrier coated, and heavy duty stainless steel portholes with screens and storm covers, a shower in the head, 5 brand new unused Sails, p.us an almost unused Mainsail, and other less important upgrades, in the same sort of condition, and after a full checkup and service, plus Trinidsd hard antifouling ready for the Caribbean, she was ready to go. RIP, my Protector, that was the last sailboat I was able to single handed sail. She cost me 5,000 dollars, p.us moving to a great Boatyard, plus the Yardwork, which in that sort of condition, wasn't expensive at all. Greatest cost really, was the antifouling . I went with Trinidad Hard antifouling, as with regular cleaning, it could last up to 7 years, after which, I had planned to Coppercoat Abtifoul it, as I could have saved up enough to have that done, after extra Solar panels on a Arch to have made, which would also have been able to mount a wind generator. Frankly, the wheel in the Cockpit turned out to be a right pita, and getting Updated to a Tiller, had got pretty high on the to do list, as it would have totally transformed the boat in a very positive way for a single handed sailor, plus very cheap reliable auto pilots, so carrying spares, no problem. Oh Alchohol cooker turned out to be very exoensive to run, and difficult to carry enough, so upgrade to Propane was on the to do list as well. Maintain and vent well, and propane isn't a problem, and it still works down to at least minus 25 degrees C plus Wind chill down to about minus 45 degrees C - Yes, I've had Propane still working well at those temperatures, with the Frostline on the bottles working as a liquid propane level indicator. Night's were very chilly, and my Hungarian Vizsla, would sneak in under the Duvet, if the Stove stopped being hot enough for him. 😅 👍
