I moved to Tulsa recently though thr Tulsa Remote program. Despite the negative crime statistics, I go to a lot of places by myself all over the city, I have never felt unsafe.

As a Tulsa Master Gardener intern, I’ll say Tulsa is Green Country with beautiful trees and rich soil. It’s much easier to grow beautiful gardens in Tulsa versus Oklahoma City. I live in South Tulsa and feel very safe. There are parts of Tulsa where crime is high but there are other parts where it’s extremely low. I feel that’s the case with many larger cities. When speaking to visitors, they’re often surprised by the hills and beautiful greenery Tulsa has to offer. Don’t let the statistics scare you away. 😊

Liked your video. Just moved to Broken Arrow about a year ago from Denver suburbs . Love it here. Not concerned about your crime rate. I feel much safer. No Snow! Tired of shoveling and scraping windshields. HOUSING IS A BARGAIN here! I will be staying here for sure.

How long is the pool season open for? Both public places and realistically how long can you swim in your own pool for?
@livingintulsaoklahoma8 ай бұрын
Home owners typically open in April-May and close in September. Public pools are usually open Memorial Day through Labor Day.

I live in the Tulsa area. It's not hot or cold here compared to a lot of places. I'm from Texas and it's MUCH hotter there, and feels colder (although the temps wouldn't suggest it) because of the humidity. The Tulsa area is very mild by comparison, and gets almost no snow, which might be important to the people who come across this video. Occasionally yes, but it's rare, and it only lasts a few days to a week at most. Definitely not like other places that have snow on the ground all winter long.

I am accepted in the Tulsa remote program. But my only concern was the spiders. I have like a DEEP fear of spiders. Are they really that bad or if I keep my house sprayed daily I will be ok?
@livingintulsaoklahoma8 ай бұрын
Congratulations! Where are you living now? I have the perimeter of my house sprayed monthly. In the spring I have them come in and spray too. That keeps them out of my house! 🏡

I have a house in the Maple Ridge area, that I’m thinking of selling, however it looks like homes are starting to sit(unsold) longer. I also noticed a few with price drops, that continue to sit unsold. Maybe it’s not a good time to sell?
@livingintulsaoklahoma Жыл бұрын
Compared to 2022 the market has shifted and as an average homes are staying in the market longer and yes we are seeing price drops. This answer is an entire screen record video in itself. Text me your email address or phone number 918-637-7826 and I will do a screen record of Maple Ridge. There is still quite a bit of variation. Some quick stats, but keep in mind averages: Homes that sold between 1 year-1.5 ago (41 homes sold) Average price per sq ft $216 average sold price $647,820 average days on market 33 Homes sold 6 months -1 year ago, (30 total homes) Average price per sqft $196.74, average sold price $541,200, average days on market 31 Homes sold 0-6 months ago (27 total homes) Average price per sqft $236.65, average sold price $623,564, average days on market 17 There are 14 homes currently active on the market with an average price per sqft of $243.88, an average list price of $994,764, and an average days on market of 66 So I am sorry there is no simple answer. With interest rates higher the market is harder, but there are still more buyers than sellers. I think the reason for selling is really important in this market and there are pros and cons depending on individual circumstances. Please feel free to reach out to discuss your specific circumstances and I will give you an honest professional opinion. I hope this was a bit helpful and thanks for asking. 🙂
