I picked up some rocks not far form Little Girls Point Park. I do not know much about rocks but I wanted to give it a try. It took me three months to polish the rock that I had. None are as good as yours but I just wanted to learn on them. I posted a video on my channel. You have a better eye for rocks than I do. You have a lot more patience as well. Great job!!!

Be careful my friend; this is how obsessions may commence! I started similar to you four years ago and now I have two saws, two large tumbling racks and two cabbing machines. Good luck finding a twelve-step program, most other rockaholics will just congratulate you on joining their (our) club. We are a cult. I live a mile from East Grand Traverse Bay; if you are ever up this way I'd be happy to share my favorite spots.

Hey Jim, it was a hobby week 1, but by week 2, it became an obsession. You’re not lying!😂 I’m itching to cut some open, I’m just waiting until I have the space to go all in like you my friend. I’m around GR, I’d love to talk shop next time I’m up your way!

Hey! Beautiful finds, great results! I’m very jealous actually lol I live in SK Canada, and my access to gemmy rocks is not great. I’m always amazed at the petrified wood people find at both Lake Superior and also in Nevada and Arizona. Some beautiful stuff available in those states! Oh, and Texas! Great rockhounding destinations. It’s kind of tough I. Canada because a lot of the best destinations don’t want you taking ANYTHING, even rocks. Anyway, good luck! I subbed, excited to see your future finds!

Thank you! I wish I had more time to check those areas out when I went out west. I’ve seen lots of nice finds come out of Montana as well, in river gravel beds. Tell Canadian officials to kick rocks! 🦵 🪨 🍁

Im sorry to burst you'r bubble but that dose not look like an agate, it looks like a rock with a quartz vein running through the middle of it. There needs to be banding lines in the rock for it to be considered an agate. But you did a really nice job tumbling you'r rockes. I have a cottage on Lake Huron in Harbor Beach, we have tons of beautiful rockes and a ton of fossels. I have yet to find a agate! I also slab and tumble the rock's i find. It's addicting, but fun. Good luck to you my friend and thanks for sharing.

Yeah there’s a few that I wasn’t sure about, you’re right! 😅 I just picked this hobby up this year, sounds like you got your little slice of paradise to slice up some beauts! Probly need to go further north for some agates. I’ve found them in rivers in the LP though, so you never do know! Addicting… to say the least.

Great finds! Those are amazing. You gotta go back and get more. I'm tumbling for the first time right now. Looking forward to picking up river rocks this summer. Nice job on the video!
