I don't get what people mean by "develop a consciousness". I've just always had a consciousness for as long as I can remember (which is my sister's second birthday, when I was 3. That is my earliest memory. She had a duck cake, and the other little boy whose birthday it was had a lion cake. We went bowling. I got to sit on the table because we ran out of high chairs and booster seats).
