Look after N9938A, she is one of the oldest 500s currently airworthy. No.6 off the production line and oldest commercial 500 still airworthy. Only the Colombian Air Force have one slightly older that is still flying. This machine should go to a museum.

Built in 1968 according to the FAA registry, definitely not a new bird but still flying beautifully and younger than me :-)

As N9006F, she was a demonstrator for Hughes Helicopters and went to quite a few countries on demo tours. Then, Jayrow Helicopters in Australia purchased her (VH-SFS) and used her for geologic survey work in the outback and also on an annual contract with ANARE in the Antarctic. One of only a handful of 500s to fly there. Give her plenty of TLC! She has earned it.

if that craft were a car, someone like jay leno would be calling all the time.... the saying "old worn still working tools speak more of my skills as a craftsman than the best of my creations ever could" apply's.... skill has kept her in service, made her sound to begin with and prevented the dings and dents that ruin a good frame over time. a toast to all of you.

Hello Jean Yves (I guess with this first name you should speak french) Great video. I am a french helo pilot and I worked as well on tuna boats in Mexico, Panama, American Samoas and Micronesia. After the tuna boat experience do you work with a Swiss company or did you return to work in Canada? I did my FAA conversión license to the Canadian commercial helicopter license in 2003 at Abbostford at Chinook Helicopters (at this time Chinook was a little, familly flight school) I've spent 4 summer seasons working in Canada. Now I work in Mexico and south america as utility helo pilot.

@@jyderbigny Bonjour Jean Yves, 3 eme bateau! Wow! AS tu la licence EASA?

This is terrible, this isn’t fishing. All your doing is herding the tuna into your net. Be a real fishing vessel go find them the right way. You are the reason why tunas are getting so small because you keep taking and taking.
@jyderbigny6 жыл бұрын
I respect your opinion and think that people should know where their food is coming from. An exponentially growing population has an impact on the world's ecosystem, it is not an excuse it is a fact. Tuna pilot is not a career, it is a way to get the hours needed for other pilot jobs.
@grobertson20086 жыл бұрын
jyderbigny I understand obtaining hours as I am a fixed wing pilot myself, but I think there are many other opportunities out there to gain hours.
