Tundra Tire Rotation

In this video, I'm using my 2014 Toyota Tundra, Platinum, Crewmax to do a short tutorial on how to rotate your tires. If you find this video useful, please give it a thumbs up. Share this video with anyone else looking to rotate their tires on their own.

What is the name and size tools u used. Lug nut adaptor, torque wrench and the breaker bar. Also, info on this jack stand and floor jack. Thanks a lot!

Hey, there. Thanks for watching the video!! Much appreciated. Now, to answer your questions: 1) The torque wrench, breaker bar, impact wrench, and socket set that I used were all 1/2" drive size. "Drive size" means the size of the head at the end of any of the wrenches and the corresponding hole in the connecting side of the socket. 2) If you are still running stock wheels, you'll (most-likely) need a 7/8 socket to get the lug nuts on or off. If you happen to buy aftermarket wheels, the lug nuts (and the adapter for the lug nuts) will come with the wheels. You won't have to worry about the size of the lug nuts if you have an adapter. Simply find which socket the adapter fits into. If you are taking the wheels off, put that socket onto the breaker bar, put the adapter into the socket, and loosen the lugs one-by-one. If you are putting the wheels back on, the same socket and adapter combo can be used with the impact wretch and the torque wrench. 3) My jack is a 3-ton hydraulic jack and each of the four jack stands are 6-ton stands. You can get all of the equipment listed above at your local hardware store. I hope that my descriptions (above) made sense ... especially point #2. I have a Procomp 6" lift on my Tundra. How much extension does your hydraulic jack have? How often are you rotating your tires?

Procomp makes good lifts! The jack that I purchased has JUST enough extension to lift the truck off the ground high enough to rotate the tires. What I do to compensate for this (cheat) is I created a home-made extension that sits on the cup of the jack. I also sandwich a short-cut 2x4 between the extension and the portion of the truck that I am lifting from. I rotate my tires around the same time that I charge my oil - every 8000 km (5000 miles). Thanks for checking out the video. Those are my winter tires on my stock wheels. They are stock size as well: 275/55R20 (32" tires). They don't look good on the truck, but the point, in the winter, is to stay on the road. 🤣🤣🤣

They look a lot bigger than the oem size. I got the same wheels thinking of going with either a 275/65 or 285/60. It’ll just be on a 1.75” front level

Camera angles are a funny thing - the winter tires are OEM size. 285/60R20 are 33.5" tires. They may just fit with that 1.75" level, but don't be surprised if some trimming is needed at the bottom of the front fender

I seen how you have to remove the front little flaps and bent/cut the oem skid plate.

I think what you're referring to is the BMC (Body Mount Chop). They take off a slice of metal where the body is mounted to the frame, and that can give 1.5" to 2" of extra clearance. The skid plate, at the front of the vehicle, can luckily remain untouched.

Bro where did you get those mirrors??? Also…how do you deal with the TPMS? Is it not attached to the wheels somehow?

Thanks for watching the video. I got the mirrors off of Amazon (GM style tow mirrors). When you get new wheels, the garage should program the sensors to your truck. When you put the wheels back on the truck, the sensors should sync with the truck. If not, you can go to a garage and have them reprogram the TPMS.

How many foot pounds to torque the lugs ?

Thanks for checking out the video. The lugs are tightened to 96 ft/pounds on a Tundra. Remember, your instruction manual will have that information. The reason I didn't bother throwing that number up is that this particular video is a general D-I-Y video meant for all trucks (Chevy, Nissan, Dodge, and Ford included). They all have slightly different specs.
