Well, it's Sunday and that means it's time for a new video. Like in the beginning of this year here is another portrait shoot session. Again the weather wasn't that great and on top of that we shot very early in the morning. Even with less than ideal conditions we made the best out of it.
My color films of choice were two tungsten based films. Kodak Vision 3 200t shot in my Leica M6 and Fuji 160t shot in the Fuji GF670. The vision 3 got developed and scanned by Silbersalz and the Fuji film by Carmencita. One major difference is that vision 3 was processed in ECN-2 unlike the 120 film that got developed in regular C41 chemistry.

The shots at that window with the LED TV were great cause she was so relaxed after laughing ;-) If you compare that to the shot at 7:49 where she has this posed fake smile. I know it is hard to make your model feel relaxed, best thing is first talking to the about things they like in life, like maybe their dog or cat and bring that conversation up whilst shooting. Peter Coulson is master in those things, check him out. At 9:23 she is full joy again, makes the better shots. She is a cutty . Personally I like those B/W so much more than the coloured ones Great video again, thanks for sharing.

Thank you! You also have to take into consideration that it was super early in the morning and on top of that it wasn't very cozy outside. That makes it even harder to feel relaxed and comfortable. 😆

Loving the last two portrait shoots you've done, Robin. There's very few film portrait shoots on KZbin that aren't really short in length. Would love to see more of these.... especially on slide film (the 64T from the previous video was stunning). Tungsten film for portraits is definitely something I'm going to try. I've just bought some vision 3 250D (been meaning to buy some for a while after seeing you shoot quite a lot of it some time ago) and I definitely want to get some 200T or 500T. Great stuff.... impressive you got so many shots in focus at .95. Nice one! Model was fantastic as well

Hi Robin, can I have a few questions?😇 How come you travel so often - is photography what you do for living or what's your job?:) Sorry - son't want to be asking to much, just seeking for inspiration really ;) Second question - what's that camera bag you had in this video? I'm currently searching for some bag which does not look like it's storing camera gear and this look perfect and nice looking. I am not sure what you learn by shooting film that is expired. I don't think it is useful except for comparative purposes to the same film not expired. If it is just "art" in the sense of whatever happens by accident is the point, I suppose that can be a purpose. But if it matters, then accidents are not good enough. Expired film is like the opposite of Gary Crewdson for instance, and somewhere in the realm of paint splats on canvass by a chimpanzee. Sure the monkey made interesting patterns, but dog crap probably has interesting swirls in it too. Not that I have anything against shooting expired film, so long as it kind of does not matter too much what you get.
