Tuning and installing Headers/Exhaust on the 240Z

I had a 72 240z as a kid and remember working with these twin carbs! looking at these today ,with how advanced cars are is a trip! Mine had points in the disty as well... what a flintstones mobile, but man, I loved it at the time and thought it was the sportiest,coolest thing ever... mine cost 800 bucks and had 150,000mi.. it was an east coast car and had more rust that it had solid metal..that engine though was Soooo easy to work on an acess Everything ...Todays cars are a literal nitmare

The header and exhaust looks and sounds great. When I had a '73 I put headers on it and drove it a few miles at night. The ditches were a glow from the flames shooting out. I then took it to a shop and had true duals with a H pipe installed with dual glass packs pointing up under the rear bumper. No car alarm was safe when I rolled by

I am impressed that you removed the intake without taking the air box off of the carbs first. I can't reach the studs with the air box on.

Might Want To Consider Either Wrapping the HEADERS Or Ceramic Coating Them to Prevent Vapor Lock,W/ the Std.Non Elect.Fuel Pump.HEADERS Generate A Lot of Extra HEAT IN ENG.BAY.MY 76,W/ Elect Pump,Even Vapor Locked Occasionally,Till the Fuel Line Was Protected.

Those look like the allegedly ceramic coated headers that MSA sells, I got the same ones

Don't wrap headers if you want them to last they will gain some performance from heat Scavenging but if they get too hot they can melt inside and even completely destroy themselves and most companies won't warranty wrapped headers

How are those headers holding up? Did they turn white or crack?

They are still holding up perfect. Coating is still in tact, no cracks or warps, and no gasket leaks.

Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars, trucks and busses including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing petrol stations to only one state operated central gas station per city. From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a completely new kind of crime here, called emissions- and smoke crime.
