A few weeks ago he went to see if he still worked and nothing. I changed batteries and stayed dead. In short you want to buy a new Wika or huma.

I noticed that when you removed the power knob the - spring seat - was all the way inside the gun housing. When I removed my power knob the spring seat came out of the housing about half its length and was a real trouble to get back inside and get the screw to line up and reseat.

I see time and time that the preferred method for tuning an FX rifle is to max out the tension of the hammer spring, even with a low pressure of the regulator... I looked up a work mat for the FX Impact , did not find one . You do such a good job pinpointing areas of each model you could have a work mat made with size of all Allen screws and torque settings . Just a thought , I would buy one . 😁

Yes it’s best to depressurize it if you do that . You can do it under pressure 1/4 turn at a time with a few shots in between but I would only recommend it if you want to go down just a little not let’s say to get 50bar down or so

How did you bring the regulator down 5 bar on a pressurised plenum? Should it be done without harming the pressure valves?

The AMP regulator of FX can be turned down 1/4 turn and then fire a few shots to bring the pressure in the plenum down …. Then repeat if needed

Have you followed the video till the end step by step ? Did you reset the pressure of the second regulator, once you screw in the setscrew of the second regulator you close/restrict the flow and the gauge reads 0 . Once you adjust the second regulator the gauge should read the pressure what you set the second regulator to

@@Airbuks Just 1 more point , when it came to me screwing off my bottle the air seemed to release straight away before I did the dry fire shot !!! ? I've only had the rifle a couple of days and that's first time I took bottle off does that indicate a problem ? I will be taking the bottle off again in a bit as swapping it for another I've got a feeling it will release all air from regulator when I remove it .. if it does what could the problem be ?

I'm putting a Huma-Air .30 slug kit and slug transfer port on my Maverick. For NSA 54 grain slugs going 935 what are good regulator keeping in mind I will be using the hammer and hammer spring included in HUMA SLUG KIT.

Hi mate , can’t really advise on that as I never had te opportunity to instal the slug kit from Huma in the Maverick . I only shot briefly the 44gr hybrid at 960 fps around 150bar with the stock components. Then I went back to pellets

Just a quick question. When replacing the hammer and the wheel, does it really matter if you put the wheel back on the same number as you took it off. Doesn’t seem to me that it would matter since the adjustment screw just rides against the wheel and the wheel determines where the hammer will rest when you cock it. I hope this makes sense and great videos.

@@Fada2peche not only to shoot slugs , you also use it to fine tune for different pellets . Fx factory sets the gun up so it will shoot JSB pellets fine . Do you mean a bipod ?

Little bit complicated but once you have the hang off it it’s pretty simple . I will make a video about that maybe soon , so many ideas but so little time 🙈

I did that for 2 reasons : first one to show in the video how to get the maximum amount of hammerspring tension . Second is that this is my way of tuning , i de the hammerspring to maximum, raising my regulator until I see the velocity I am looking for , then I back down the hammerspring untill I loose velocity again . Giving me the balance between the hammerspring tension and the regulator pressure I need

@@midwestairgunner8500 when the hammering is maxed out I use the regulator to get to the velocity I more or less look for . Then I back off the hammer spring tension and 2 things can happen . Or the velocity increases in the beginning ( this means the hammer hits the valve so hard it closes to quickly) The velocity stays the same until a certain point and starts loosing velocity ( This is the point where it hits the hammer just hard enough to overcome the regulator pressure) Backing off just a little bit more about 10-15 FPS is the ideal spot and hammerspring for that given regulator pressure and velocity giving you the best shotcount and probably best consistent

Duidelijke video. Ik heb een vraagje over mijn .22 Maverick compact. Na het plaatsen van een slug power kit heb ik beide regulatoren ingesteld. De eerste staat op 170 bar en de 2e regulator op 150 bar. Het vreemde is nu dat mijn maverick 30 grain Javelyn 2 slugs schiet met 921 fps of power setting 4. Zet ik de power setting op 7, dan zakt de snelheid terug naar 840 fps. Het schroefje van de hamer spring heb ik op 6mm ingesteld. Heb jij enig idee hoe het kan dat setting 4 harder schiet dan setting 7? 🤔

Hey , ja hoor ! De reden dat je na het installeren van de slug power kit dit fenomeen ziet is door dat je een zwaarder hammer gewicht en misschien veer hebt geïnstalleerd . Wat er gebeurt is dat de kracht van de veer en hammer veel sterker is als ervoor waardoor je op setting 7 de valve zo hard raakt dat de valve naar achter schiet botst en terugkomt met als resultaat dat de valve minder lang open is dan op setting 4 die waarschijnlijk net in balans is . Dit fenomeen heet onbalans tussen regulator druk/hammerspring/hammer en hammer adjustment. Je gaat zien dat als je je Maverick op setting 7 zet en de adjustment screw van de hammerspring uitdraait je snelheid omhoog gaat . Of je verhoogt de 2de regulator druk en ga je zien dat je op setting 7 meer snelheid gaat krijgen omdat de balans beter komt en op setting 4 ga je op het ultieme punt een daling van snelheid krijgen . De truck met de FX geweren is de ultieme balans vinden tussen al de settings en 9/10 is dat ook de meest accurate 😉 hopelijk is mijn uitleg wat te begrijpen

@@Airbuks Perfect uitgelegd, dankjewel. Ik ga morgen een nieuwe poging wagen. Er zit idd een zwaardere veer en hamergewicht in. Ik kan de adjustment screw niet verder uitdraaien dan nu het geval is (6mm) ik moet de balans dus zien te vinden in de 2e regulator (verhogen) In dat geval gaat mijn flesdruk wel erg snel omlaag. Misschien is dit een goed argument om de 580cc fles aan te schaffen en een DonnyFL Koi aan te schaffen, deze schijnt net langs de fles te passen.

Voor een .22 en gemiddelde slugs zou ik niet hoger gaan dan 155 bar op je regulator

Awesome video, but when I bled the system to close the rear regulator, I connected my bottle again but it is leaking from the from regulator vent hole, unless I close the reg, then as I start to open front reg, it build a little pressure and vents again, which oring do you think is leaking in the regulator and how do you avoid this when bleeding the system?

What I'm not getting and very confused is filling the bottle with air off my compressor, Do I use the guage opposite side of fillport and charge to 250 BAR ,and then what happens when my air in bottle decrease ,where is my bottle pressure guage set at ? Because it looks to me the guage is showing a different pressure from the second reg...very confused it seems to me there should be 3 guages on gun.

The gauge opposite off the fillport shows only your bottle pressure . The gauge at the back shows your second regulator pressure. In order for that gauge to read the pressure of the 1st regulator you need to bypass the second one then the gauge at the back shows the regulator pressure of the first regulator. In my opinion a 3th gauge could be handy like you say but we all know those small gauges aren’t all reading the same and so could mess up your tune . Therefore I like to work with that one gauge at the back to set both regulators

Yes mate I installed the slugkit with some heavy hammer and I have the allen screw at the end of the 23mm. I had opened it to 150 and the power was dropping. Now I have 140 on it and it works fine. Have you tried it at 160 bar?

Mine was 30cal and I made it 5.5cal I put the slugkit and tin barrel heavy 1/16 700mm I only shoot slugs and I like long shots the only slugs I like and have covered me for long shots are the nsa 31.2's I shoot at 970fpa. I want to try a heavier 34 36 40 to get better air handling but I can't throw them at that speed. As soon as I raise the reg to 150 the power drops.

Overall I'm very happy with the nsa 31.2 but since I really like testing I want to try them all. I have two heavy hammers because mine was 30cal and he had it, I also took the slug kit and I have one left. I was thinking of going up a bit in grams if I drill a hole in the pitch and refill with a pencil. Are they going to do damage?? how can you open a reg at 160 170 180 bar??

Not as off yet , at the moment it’s exclusively for the impact . But since the Maverick is more then capable to shoot a .35 it will be just a matter off time . Or u can use the impact barrel and make your own custom pellet probe 😉

My question is: after the gun its not been used for a couple of hours or days, the first shot is like 30/35 fps slower. Based on your experience what do you think is causing that? Thank you.

You might have some creep on the secondary regulator, if your tune is nicely balanced and you get some creep in the second regulator then the pressure rises putting to much pressure on the valve resulting not being able to fully open . After 1 shot the pressure in the plenum gets back to normal and everything should be fine again

Personally my friend...I think this is a bit of a gimmick from FX. I have dozens of airguns for 300-3k$ and I haven’t had any issues with regulator creep, and all have been tuned by me to have a lower standard deviation over 80 shots than this gun. I do appreciate the effort FX puts out to pry cash from my pocket. Granted they make an excellent airgun, and I own several. That said, this is more of a marketing ploy than anything. In theory...it sounds great, but practicality...not so. The one thing that they do have going for them is the price drop due to less time in manufacturing. That, this, is my Honest opinion from my experience, and I have their gear in my collection, I only wish them well. Will I buy it...yep! Do I need it...nope! Is it any better than any other gun I have...NOPE! I do appreciate the video, and your time making it. God bless.

Thx for the support mate and the comment 👍 I am still getting to know the Maverick as we speak. I own the Maverick in .30 cal and the regulator is set to 115-135 bar , honestly in my opinion I think the dual regulator setup is only showing it’s potential at lower regulator pressure to shoot .22 18gr pellets for instance. At higher pressures my impact has the same extreme spread of 5FPS . But a new FX Maverick cheaper than the impact that performs at the same level is nice 👍 Merry X Mas 🌲

Completely Agree. Run a Aktaros on my evanix and it has held it's ground for the last 3 years plus. I think the issue with the impact regulators is the adjustability design which is ita downfall according to me.

Totally agree Sir, I like FX but I don't like this idea, I think it is somewhat exaggerated 2 regulators. It would be better if they focused on improving what they have. A good regulator is more than enough in my opinion.

This is can’t tell you , it’s a combination of the hammerspring , the regulator pressure, barrel length , pellet weight etc ... . Only the hammerspring won’t get you that number 😬

You will probably have to swap the sub 12 parts in order to do that , I think the sub 12 has anti temper parts in place to make those sub12 stay sub12

@@fliesarenegade it’s a very nice gun , actually it’s a wildcat mkiii bt in a different stock . Very few complain about that one 😉 but it’s no impact offcours in terms of adjustment , aftermarket parts , tunable, upgrades etc

every regulator has a venting to the atmosfere ,because the reg valve will leak a litlle in time , i use huma reg`s and that needs also a venting to the atmosfeer ,thats not creep ,creep is, if the plenum or shotchamber will go higher in pressure then the setting in time of the reg, and that i did not experience that not whit the huma or amp,. 10 metre competition guns you get the advice to shoot test shots before the match and that cleares evt the pressure if it is build up in the shot chamber. and thats not a defect if you fill the gun with 250 -300 bar if allowed ,and shoot with reg pressure of a 100 bar or less your reg will have to deal with a big difference, a second can do the last stage , its a 2 stage regulator that way

In my personal experience I never experienced anything like what some people call creep . But I have read many times that some people have there regulated pressure ( in the plenum) go over the set pressure when the don’t use it

Hello I have a Maverick 25 cal. Compact Standard 500mm barrel. 1. Reg 175 bar 2. Reg 150 bar PW7 IHS?!? and shoot JSB Knock Out Slugs 33.49 Gr at 885 FPS. The Slugs Spiral !! Does anyone know WHY ??
