One of the best general tunebot videos and thus far, THE best example of practical application of the tune bot tuning. Just got my tunebot a couple days ago and the option to space the tone of the toms in increments is an option I put to use thanks to Geoff! Well done.

Your 10 inch tom sounds incredible! I just picked up a tune bot. I already fell in love with it. Drums sound great, and ya can consistently get your kit sounding great fast before a gig.

Very good video. Thank you for taking the time to put it together. I have been playing by ear since I was a kid and this tuning bot is really going to help me out when my new kit arrives on Tuesday.

I copied your settings on my Ludwig Classic Maple kit and they sound pretty good! I couldn't get the bottom head on my 10" tom to 262Hz, so I kept both batter and resonant heads the same.

Hey guys! Could you help me? I really do like the very first tuning 4:55 and would like to get this "singing" toms sound too but the problem is my toms are 12" 14" and 16". Do you have any idea how to do it? What would be my tuning? Thanks for the answer

If you had two floor Tom's say a 14 and a 16 what would you tune them too? This tune bot is driving me crazy man... I have no idea how to use it and my drums sound terrible. I'm taking them apart after I get off work and I'm going to try again.

have you ever tried finding the fundamental resonance in hertz of the shell (heads off) and then tuning both top and bottom head to that?
@EightiesTV6 жыл бұрын
What you would get is a sustaining, ringing drum with tons of sympathetic vibration. But it would be loud, if loud is all you're looking for.
@ArtTistic10 жыл бұрын
Awesome video Geoff! So if I wanted to expand on your G, D, A tuning to include an 8" and a 16" respectively they would be? 8" C 262, F 349.2 16" E 82.4, A 110 Is that correct? Thanks ! & Happy New Year!

Anthony Francese you will have to try it.. sadly tuning doesn't always follow a mathematical equation.. some just don't seem to work.

i have a DW collectors series from 2001 ... i noticed they stamp notes inside the drum ... but i also noticed in my snare ( DW blk nickle over brass ) 14x5.5 there is no such stamp .. what note would be best for said drum

I really liked the 3 step. Sounded really nice and meaty. Did you have the snares on during the 3 step because I didn't hear any sympathetic vibration?
@GeoffFryDrummer9 жыл бұрын
denlrod I cant remember but I prob turned the snare off.. I always get a lot of sympathetic snare with my 10" toms.. that's the main reason I have now changed to just 12" and 14"

Kkkkk

I completely disagree with what tuning bot is showing. 2nd tuning was most pleasant for me, 3rd is more less, 1st is just completely bad. 2nd tuning has in my opinion fundamental audible notes from high as C#, G#, C (slightly overtones to D#). I've seen hell of videos where people blindly believe the tuningbot measurements - all i can say: is it hard to understand that people hear not the measurements of this device but the audible note? Get some keyboard app - and check what you hear - it would be the only unbiased and honest thing. Moreover, what's the logical purpose of checking tuning with a slight spank of a stick when you're bashing your kit when playing? Head deforms, resonates in completely different way when you bash it, not to say the shell itself has different response. A lot of variables.

@@EricLThomp75 No, correct. DW started doing that. It had never been done before.

@billbillards5699 ай бұрын
@@jerryleokirkman9460 Really, how the hell was somebody supposed to tune to notes prior to these apps? Who ever said tune to notes 15 years and prior? Nobody, because nobody did that. DW started that craze to sell their overpriced drums.
@EricLThomp759 ай бұрын
@billbillards569 so there were never any resources to be able to tune to pitches before apps?.....like maybe matching the drum pitches to a guitar or piano? Hmmmm got ya! So, DW are the only drums that can be tuned to notes? GTFOH troll
