Thank you Brad for your dedication and regular updates. I like others appreciate it. Today's top-down videos shots were excellent. Wish you and your family a very Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year.

Thanks Brad. *Sort by Newest First or Top Comments if only the first few lines are visible* 3:36. Southend, highway side. Trenching for flexible ducts/conduits. 3:52. Westside, new project. Contractor Ward and Burke taking time off. Likely part of the ‘Giga Texas Offsite Wastewater Interceptor’ project. The address on the permit for the Wastewater Interceptor is south of the river and the east side of the highway. For that reason I have been reluctant to to specificially state this is the same project. Had a change of heart after noticing that the permit address for the Sand Hill Lateral Pipeline project is given as 12304 1/2Tesla Road. 5:11. Westside, Tunnel Project. MotherTruck. Awaiting framing material for the ‘window line’. 6:18. Sand Hill Power plant. South of. Top left. Works that are also likely part of the ‘Giga Texas Offsite Wastewater Interceptor’. 6:45. Southend, west. East-west vehicle passageway. A Cybertruck parked. 7:14. Southend, west. Inside Level 1. Centre. Yellow plastic in a section of floor where the concrete has been demolished. 10:10. Temporary Switchyard site. Right. Stormwater drain works. Concrete drain placed under the suspended ductbanks. 13:35. BIW, apron. Orange die transport trailer has returned. 14:28. Battery, roof. Gear hoisted up on the crane. There was a regular flue here. Replaced by this powered flue. Frame large enough for additional units.

Trenching at the south west end for even more fibre optic for 'net connection though it reaches a point where it would be faster to send it up space, transfer the data between satellites, and send it down...... anywhere... Starlink.
@DavidJohnson-tv2nn4 сағат бұрын
@@memrjohnno Second attempt to post... Starlink has limited bandwidth, speed, and capacity compared to fiber optic cable. Most data is sent around the world via fiber optic cable. research Statlink vs fiber optic cable.

6:18 Good catch! I think that answers the question of whether the new wastewater interceptor will intercept an existing line heading to the wastewater treatment plant, or whether a new tunnel will be bored under 130. It looks like there will be a tunnel under 130.

@ 6:18 (Upper left) Brad... If you have time next flight.... Can you get a better view of the project south of the power plant? As Dessie pointed out, it is likely part of the 'Giga Texas Offsite Wastewater Interceptor’. Same as the project @ 3:53. Also check west of 130, south of the river if you can. Thanks.

Thanks Brad! @ 3:53 Tunnel under the river/Wastewater Interceptor Project: For more information on the project, see Dessie's comment and my comment regarding the project on Joe's video 12/23/24. Additional information on micro tunneling.... This project will have some differences from the Cybertruck tunnel.... * Bore diameter will be smaller. About 7 feet. * There will be no conveyer to remove the spoil. The material removed from the bore by the TBM will be mixed with water or bentonite and carried by a slurry line to a separation plant on the surface. Where the spoil will be separated from the fluid, and the fluid circulated back to the TBM. * Jacking frame/Intermediate Jacking Stations: The jacking frame remains in the vertical work shaft. Hydraulic jacks push the TBM forward. Then pipe sections are added, and the pipe and TBM are pushed forward. Every few pipe sections will have ports where bentonite is injected to lubricate the outside of the pipe. In a long tunnel bore, intermediate jacking stations are added to the pipe string. @ 4:07 Larger ring forms to the right will be for the TBM launch shaft. Smaller ring forms to the left will likely be for the TBM recovery/interception shaft. Highway 130, eastside: @ 3:25 Appears to be more installation of fiber optic cable duct.

What is the point of this tunnel? If it's to get across the interstate, why dig a tunnel at all when there is an overpass 200 yds away 5:05
@DavidJohnson-tv2nn16 сағат бұрын
I agree completely. The biggest purpose the tunnel serves seems to be an attempt to hype and promote TBC. Funny thing is.... That didn't go so well when had those failed road segments.

Less exposure for less time to the elements for brand new vehicles, and about a half mile less driving on the vehicle before shipping. Trying to get every little bit of efficiency they can get. Keeps the vehicles off the public road that goes under the bridge as well, so no entanglements in terms of laws for self driving or robot driven vehicles, as it stays on private roads the whole time.

@@tonyvelasco5732 "no entanglements in terms of laws for self driving or robot driven vehicles" What about safety of workers and visitors?
@tonyvelasco573212 сағат бұрын
@DavidJohnson-tv2nn self driving laws will be well behind safety. That's just the nature of how government works and how slow it moves. FSD 13.2.2 is closing in on full autonomy. They have three or four issues to work on in future thirteen.point releases to get to where it would be extremely safe almost anywhere, and in a controlled environment completely safe. To give you some idea, 13.2.2 navigated a 400 mile round trip through two major cities, stop and go traffic, eighty mile per hour highway driving, and three rain storms without a disengagement. I have had one disengagement in 10 drives, and it's handling the daily commute on narrow country no shoulder roads, then heavy city and hwy traffic morning and night with 0 disengagements. They need to work on handling emergency vehicles in various scenarios, school zone contextual scenarios, and still could work on HOV lane contextual scenarios to really get it to a robotaxi point. It handles all of these to some extent, but needs more training on more scenarios to make it well rounded in those situations.

@@tonyvelasco5732 Fully aware of that but my point is that GT production output has been average at very best, given the size. Will be very interesting to see how a McQ goes down over in the US because such a thing could very well wipe out much of the European auto industry which is already on its knees. Giga Berlin have a planned and permitted quite large expansion planned for quite some time and Elon mentioned earlier this year that the 'compact' would be built there. VW would be wiped out in maybe a year.

The cover for the tunnel is taking forever to complete. I think whoever had the idea to make it look like a Cybertruck needs to be fired. Its money being wasted, and time is more money. "KISS" - Keep it simple stupid

@DavidJohnson-tv2nn16 сағат бұрын
Its also a bad idea because when the Cybertruck is eventually discontinued, all that work is for nothing. The tunnel exit portal should have been designed to look nice, but be a universal design that would work ok with whatever model comes through there.

@@DavidJohnson-tv2nn cybertruck is unlikely to be discontinued, as it is already making money. more likely is a lowering of the price over time as the line is paid off and the cost can go down and still make money. Future versions will see improvements like longer range while still having a lower price.
