The beat is from Stevie Wonder "That Girl" A lot of friends and people that knew Pac and worked with him mentioned that Pac always felt he wasn't going to be around long and his life would be cut short at such a young age which is why Pac would be in the studio 24/7 doing 3 songs a day

Listening to this back in 95 when there wasn't so quick a access to the lyrics like we have today. I sat there listening to the song over and over writing down each word until I had the lyrics. This left me with one strong impression of this song. The whole song feels like a man about to commit suicide reflecting on his life as he is falling to the floor, begging the Lord to let him in Heaven's door. He knows the result will be baptism in eternal fire, but every move has been a calculated step to bring him closer to a early death. Now there is nothing left. He's completed all the steps to get him here and now it's time to end it. Tupac Shakur was such a poet. His loss still saddens me greatly. He touched on so many societal issues in his rap that his loss hurt more than just his fans.
