Don't know what to say guys... As a muslim living in Germany i constantly have to explain myself and my religion. I try to tell and show people how beautiful and peaceful islam is and that muslims can really have a good impact on society. But why bother?! One look in the youtube comment section and everything i see is how mean and judgemental our community is to each other.....

Hijab is accepted by most ppl as being compulsory but it's a tiny definition of a Muslim woman. Modesty and decorum are a better way to define them- looking beautiful/chic/smart without revealing their body or drawing the wrong type of attention to themselves. Personally I can't see why ppl are so bothered about a few strands of hair. Muslim women who wear any type of hair covering immediately declare their faith for all to see and judge them. That in itself is a huge undertaking especially in the current climate

I have been wanting to ask this question. How do you (and people in the comment section) feel about wearing a turban without religious reasons? I'm addicted to looking up old school photos of fashion in the 40s, 50s etc. When I look at Audrey Hepburn for example I see lots of moments where she looks incredibly beautiful with a turban. Would love to hear you ladies' opinion on this. PS. Dina you look beautiful!

Everybody has a different way of interpreting things. Unfortunately we all do not practice our religion the same way and that is something Muslims need to come to terms with when harshly condemning other muslims. I interpret "swaying humps of camels" to refer to provocative movement of the body. I feel that the Hadith as a whole is describing the character of a woman that God is displeased by. These youtubers are public figures and know the price publicity comes with but every time I see Muslims telling them off so harshly, all I can wonder is how they still hold on to their faith when following it brings so much hate. (I am not referring to you but to the many others that leave rude comments everywhere). "Every religion has a character and the character of Islam is Heya (modesty)".

A turban is just a style. A hijab can be in a style of a turban, and no it's not just limited to Sikhs. Moroccans, specifically those who live in the south wear turbans, so yes, Muslim Arabs and Berbers have been doing this for forever now
