Thanks Jay! After seeing this video a couple weeks ago, I bit the bullet and ordered one. Went with a custom scheme. The viper demo team. I have a kingtech K142 g4 for it. I plan on flying it fpv with headtracker. I been converting all my 90mm edf's to fpv with great success, but this will be my first turbine. After flying the edf's fpv, it's the only way I wanna fly now lol. But I need more power and only a true turbine will do it.

Unless you are running a bladder tank I would recommend leaving the UAT. don’t matter what the company says that the turbine will “eat air bubbles” not worth a flame out.
@Jays_rcgarageАй бұрын
Yeah, im on the fence. I like the safety but I also like seeing progression in technology and if they believe its flawless I am happy to test it.
@Barron5362Ай бұрын
Can't imagine ever running without a UAT. Maybe they have mini one in the turbine.. or the fuel pump has a double-pass feature to disperse an air bubble. I think Swiwin turbine fuel pumps have this.
@westhobbiesrc8051Ай бұрын
@ if you run a bladder tank you don’t need a UAT as you fill like a Q40 and there airless. But I always run UAT with regular tanks. Not worth the flame out. Even my turbine heli I built I run a UAT.
@xXRapToRiXxGamerКүн бұрын
Correct me if I'm wrong but normally the UAT is after the pump and before the turbine right? So if we now have a turbine that has the fuel pump built-in, logically a UAT would then be before the fuel pump. Would that be of any benefit? I am not a pump expert but I am guessing that bubbles originate in the pump. So a UAT before the pump would do nothing.

I'm surprised you got everything on the 10 channel radio, did you use a Y-harness on your Ailerons and Elevator? Typically We separate each channel plus if you want Flaperons you will use out. The steering gyro should turn or correct the opposite direction but that is just a reprogram. The UAT is good insurance. My buddy uses the NX radio with no issues but he is using the 20. He has the TV so you can turn it off/on. Good luck on the build but if you have questions ask the turbine community.

Its a RTF composite jet. These are not cheap full stop. The servos alone for something like this probably costs 1k then you have the turbine which is 2k on its own as well. So for what you are getting it is a good price compared to other offerings. It is just at the top end of the RC market.

LOL "All you need to do is install your turbine "$4000.00+" and chuck your batteries and and rx in and bam you're good to go!!! LOL NOPE, You install that stuff "you'll be just north of $9-10k by now" and now the fun begins!! Hours of programing and thats if you know turbines. If I had to guess this appeals to 0% of the subs on this channel financially and experience wise lol. AGAIN there is NOTHING plug and play about this thing. When you put that in the air you have it insured, yes insured like a car. This all said and done I'm guessing will be roughly 10k and up. Youll have multiple redundancies/controllers etc......to the guy that said he's not ready for this was kind of a dxck. This dudes come a long ways but I hope you know some turbine guys brother, I cant stress it enough. That and jets are sooo different in the air, anyways this thing looks mean. Good luck, thats a bad B!!
@Jays_rcgarageАй бұрын
PNP+Turbine=$6k .. batteries and RX won’t cost $3-$4k. I’m running spektrum smart packs and will have synapse so all in maybe another $700. $6700 total… not sure of insurance?? Never heard of a company insuring a Jet unless you are referring to AMA. Programming was simple since everything was installed already. Plug in the wires to RX .. assign channels on remote. Set travel and expo.. maybe some flaperons and she’s ready. Programming took 7-10 minutes tops. I stand behind PNP. This went together easier than planes I’ve gotten from Freewing, FMS and Hobbyking.

If you "don't have the time to set it up" then you shouldn't be in the hobby. Thats what's wrong with the hobby today. No one wants to take time to actually learn and go thru their models. Then when something happens, you have no clue what's going on.
@Jays_rcgarageАй бұрын
What’s wrong with the Hobby is guys want to keep it in the past. Technology progresses and there isn’t anything wrong with getting with the times. I agree that “modeling” is an amazing craft and I enjoy seeing Airplanes that people took time to build or assemble.. but for most of us these days.. we love model aviation and want to spend our time flying new models. I fly with full scale career pilots, they want to spend their off days flying, not building.
@MPRasta104Ай бұрын
@Jays_rcgarage building and actually knowing what's going on inside your aircraft is not keeping it in the past. In fact, it's quite the opposite because you're actually involved with the technology. Even full scale career pros like Rob Holland, Sean Tucker, Kirby Chambliss actually work on their planes themselves. PLUS, all this ready made stuff is driving the prices up and making it both harder for people to get into and stay in the hobby, AND making parts harder to get by putting LHSs out of business.
@Jays_rcgarageАй бұрын
LHS are going out of business because the internet has made it easy to purchase direct from the manufacturer. Has nothing to do with prices of the product. I almost backed a hobby shop about 8 years ago and decided against it because of this exact reason. You named famous Aerobatic pilots. I’m referring to Corporate Private Jet pilots and airline captains that I fly with. We all enjoy throwing a receiver in and going to the field. This is why Freewing, FMS, Avios and countless other companies are growing year by year. A proven business model. Again not everyone wants to build. Tyler Perry pays Ramy and a team to BUILD massive airplanes. He loves the hobby just as much as most of us. But lacks the time to build himself. Doesn’t mean he shouldn’t be flying these Airplanes. Do what you love and stay within your budget. Happy flying ✈️

I like the Synapse too. Hundreds of flights on my turbine Raptor & 3D birds! Great choice. 👌 Nice jet & excellent video. Happy New Year! 🎆
@Barron5362Ай бұрын
I don't use or like Spektrum due to the expense but have seen the brown outs. The thing to consider is that that they are 90% of what folks are flying, so you will see more issues. Still, the Spektrum products integrate nicely without the need of deciding if you need a radio/rx firmware update every few months. I fly tandem (FrSky), which has these headaches but I love the programming. I use in turbines, giant scale and everything smaller. I love the dual protocol that is similar to Jeti. IDK, but my gut tells me the brown outs are due to improper radio/power installations... too small batteries, no voltage regulation or improper range testing/antenna orientation. I've seen some of these outages on $11,000 aircraft. Plugging a capacitor of the right size in one of the spare channels (to help with sudden voltage drops) may help with brownouts. Some radios are simply more tolerant of low voltage drops than others. IDK, but maybe some of the Spektrum stuff is NOT. Besides the correct size batteries, you have to consider the strength/speed/number of servos, really long wire runs and how they are routed. PNP models like FTL, BVM have a some of these best practices already designed for you but you still need to check everything.
