I've been watching your stuff, but I haven't been commenting as often because I've been watching your videos from my internet enabled flatscreen and it doesn't have bluetooth to use my bluetooth keyboard (!) So, now on my potato, I'm checking in. It also sometimes makes the green belts look like they are going in the opposite direction (I thought it had enough hertz, but maybe not...) Either way, I've noticed you are still upgrading your designs making them even more dense and parsimonious while trying to never use any beacons (I always use up to 8 beacons for reasons I still don't necessarily understand), but I think you're thinking is: not necessary. I also somehow completely missed how much stuff it takes to make the greenies (belts/undergrounds/splitters), even though I have about the same target numbers in storage, they were way more starved than I realized even with "using" that Rate Calculator mod and I obviously have some issues reading numbers and seeing red or something. My poor bots running around shoving gears into my build (!) I'm glad there's no AI bot uprising implemented in Factorio where they'd just start burning your factory to the ground! What I did wonder is how do you make the decision to build stuff like gears, plates, etc., per manufacturing focus, (like your belt/underground/splitter build) instead of relying on a "production center" that produces everything a foundry can make in decent numbers? IIRC, I actually think you don't have a "main" manufacturing district in your playthru! (?) You serve the manufacturing builds "locally," right? I built the rocket fuel, LDS, Blue Chips, on planet to transport greenies everywhere, but at 50 per belt stack/rocket, that seems onerous... does it not matter given I think I can just make a ton of rockets now anyways? Should I get passed my early game uh oh, can I make enough rockets, cause I think I actually can and I didn't update my current state...? Or is it just Factorio devs saying, "Move on, there's bots yo"

Hey LF! Great questions, glad you are still enjoying the series. I usually use _some_ beacons but only if necessary, and usually in the combo of productivity in the manufacturing building and speed in the beacon to offset the productivity. That's mostly for things like tungsten and plastic which are limited (on Volcanus) As for the design, I don't really have a main bus with Volcanus and a centralized production zone, because of the quantities I am trying to get I prefer to have the lava bus and just build off of there, providing the locations with what they need directly from foundaries. On Nauvis it's a bit different, more centralized. I'll be getting circuits and electric engines built before I leave Volcanus. I didn't make circuits on my livestream series Volcanus build due to a serious lack of coal, but this series has 5 mil nearby. I'll also get tap that coal and more tungsten before I leave Volcanus. Getting close to that final stage!

@@TheJarGames k, ty for the explanation. There's actually one last thing about pipes and sulfuric acid and lava on Vulcanus. I was told on the Factorio discord that the pipe throughput of sulfuric acid is "infinite," but even if that's so I still found I needed pumps periodically (and does that impose a 1,200 limit?) and the data on the side that said 236/300 or something did not help me with when and where I needed to place the pumps... I did it ad hoc, tested and iterated until my flow was better... you find a similar thing? I double checked it wasn't something to do with that time of the month, (which is hard to keep track of, even with a day/night cycle) seems to have no variation contribution from that... I was hoping for at least one day a month where Factorio smiles at me for just being me... nope. Lastly with volcanus I think I asked you about why I can't "cross" the streams with lava and SA pipes, but it's really true, and makes things interesting. Is lava flow through the pipe supposedly infinite too? I haven't yet needed to use a pump for lava pipes, though they may have never hit the limit distance either with my builds, so Idk.

@@Logically_Fallacious Fluids are much simpler now than they used to be. You theoretically have infinite throughput of a pipe, but you need to put pumps every 320 tiles. When you put a pump, the pump has a limit of 1200/s The sulfuric acid is just limited to what your pumpjacks are doing, then when you go further than 320 tiles of pipe you need to put a pump, and that pump will limit it to 1200/s -> but you can put multiple pumps in parallel to increase that throughput. 1 long pipe connected to 2 pumps beside each other then outputting into another single pipe means that pipe can transport 2400/s now. I hope that makes sense, seems like it could be a fun video
