Don't think the supra was trying too hard? It was obviously a series of planned races. As for the supra being disadvantaged, it's highway racing! Supra's are freeways queens. I love supras, but he just got out performed. SN-95 FTW!!

There would have to be some experiments no doubt because theres only been a few companies try and make the inline 8, But since theres not one vehicles out there with the hood space to support the inline 8 they would make no profit of the engine itself and it would be used only with the drag/funny cars since hood space length means nothing to them.

The smaller the engine the more efficiant it is at making power why f1 car use 4's. less internal parisitic loss. V8 are just a good way to get large displacment in small area's. I6's are strong mainly in the bottum end so can take more abuse pressure. But I wouldn't be overly suprised to find out that supra's engine weighs as much as the mustang larger engine. Does anyone know how much boost both cars are running? I figure the the stang is around 8psi but would be interested to find out the sup

im not a supra fan or american car muscle fan, im just an enthusiast ya know. And i know, viper's massive torque make you seem like your going faster than you really are. supras normally would make more power. You see more 650+hp supras than vipers on the road. Supras just need custom final gear ratios and some aero work and you'll see them surpass vipers. I promise you. Im not a big brainy on these 2 specific cars, so this is all out of opinions. I will do my research to back up any facts thou

Yes there is. Its called better engineering. Forced Induction, Power to weight ratios, better gearing, etc. Thats why a Hayabusa which has way less cylinders and displacement can beat any car out of the factory.

that's an ignorant arguement. because in reality the supra has 6 cylinders. and mechanically the Supra has an advantage over the Mustang. I-6's hold up so well because there are less moving parts than a V6 or a V8 do research. The 2jzgte is actually a very efficient motor.

I'm a fan of anything that goes fast. You can't talk shit about whose car is the best. In this case, the Cobra owner invested more money in his car than the supra owner. But the Supra wasn't that bad, it kept up and what I saw, that supra belongs to a race shop owner or something like it, that means it isn't stock. But that's relative, if the supra owner puts more money, the supra wins and vice versa. It's stupid to argue whose car is the best, one is more modified, that's all.

um no viper has a V8. Just the V10. They started out with 400 then worked up to...600 now? or 5something.....? Vipers are a decent platform to build but dont have a huge supply like the supras. It is cheaper to build a supra, but itll take more to it to compete with a viper with the same mods. The Supra engine is a stout one and has great potential. Overall a great example of the japanese making a great car. Im a diehard viper fan in the end tho.

This is just my opinion but. With around $2000 you can make a Supra one of the greatest cars to race with. :D I am a Supra fan indeed.

@LokkiSaints 2JZ is a turd, bro. The single most overrated engine of all time. They can make big power on stock internals, big deal, so do 03 Cobra. The big catch is that the superior 4.6 4V can make the same peak power a 2JZ does on 30+ lbs at 17-18 lbs, and not have an effective power-band of 2000 rpm due the the 2JZ's inability to spool a turbo.

Once you get into the 2000+ range (which the 2jz and Rb have come close to), you might have to replace the factory chassis and throw elephant slicks on the back to keep it all on the ground lol. I dont call that street worthy. Drag cars are utterly useless, the streets and curcuits are the testing grounds for the whole machine, not just the engine.

if you look hard enough, you can see the rear fender of the supra quite a bit ahead of the rear fender of the cobra, at least until they round the corner. your probably more of a fan of american muscle, so you'll need an in car video proving, 100%, that it got beat.

i don't see them running 6 cyl. in top fuel NHRA.big daddy don garlits said theres no replacment for displacment,but these cars are running on the street the supra is spooling up faster it has less rotating mass,but in a quarter mile with this mustangs low end torque and a good 60 ft. time the supra wouldn't hang

we are comparing 8.0liter+ when bored, to a "max 3.4or 3.5ltr supra engine. At the end of the day, u gotta wipe the sweat off your forhead and look at the whole picture.that more than half engine supra and almost half less cylinders can kick some ass and even keep up with something of a maxed out viper. Thats what im amazed at. But dont worry, the new GTR will be cracked to max tune and that V-10 Supra and NSX is coming to your showrooms soon enuff with more displacement than lil bros n sis
