Favourite youtube series these days by far. Usually these types of series have part 1 and 2 then the guy goes MIA. Cant wait to see the finished build

Adam stoked you love the series and I’m committed to sharing the whole build with as much detail as possible so you can certainly look forward to the journey.

Decent progress this time, only thing i would have done is pre fill the torque convertor before installation. Keen to see it drop a set soon 👌👍
@LatysGarage5 жыл бұрын
Damo S pre filling the converter is definitely a good option I failed to have fluid pre organised but it’ll be allright I’ll spend abit more time at prestart stage and get the auto all primed up . Haha RIP poxy looking 19’s

@@LatysGarage you do make it look less daunting for such big jobs. Also was wondering are you a mechanic or just love to work on cars? You seem to know everything about them💪💪👌👌

I'm looking at about the same weight with maybe a tiny bit more hp in the end maybe not. I'm at the point of wondering how far I can go before I end up shelling the trans. I've seen 1000hp cars explode the shell, I've seen 600hp cars that dead hook, remove the bell housing themselves. Take the weight and add 900ftlbs of torque with a tight converter it can be hard on parts.. I think I will end up using an ultra bell anyway to start because I have a chevy 400 with a broken ear and I can get B.O.P 400s about half the price of chevy. The more I think about it, that $350 ultra bell may be the best investment ever. Everyone has a good trans, it just has that 1 tab broken off priced like its junk because no one wants it lol. Plus the added benefit of that 1 extra bell housing bolt on an LSX you lose. Good video and ill definitely keep an eye on your build
@clint.garage.60924 жыл бұрын
I have got myself a th400 and started reading and learning how to build it , probably trans brake etc, hoping I can find someone to do a converter here in NZ, but if not I will call your people and see if they will ship one. Hope alls well with you and yours bro. #olgo2channel

never thought about the hallow cranks lmao you know somewhere that someone has hooked a 20v cordless grease gun to one and sent it!!! I don't understand that tube must have been empty, ill grab a full grease tube and try again. Meanwhile, their crank picked up an extra 170oz of internal balance lol

well that would be a rude awakening... "Did you get the bushing out of that crank?" "No and it ate my entire sandwich"
@LatysGarage3 жыл бұрын
Yes bushing was removed . Converter would not pull up to flex plate if bushing was still installed it would of fouled on the nose of the converter . As for sandwich comment not sure if that’s humor but ok .

@blakebrewtnall11525 жыл бұрын
Hey m8 got a turbo 350 just with stage 3 shift kit atm am planning to turbo my ls1 in the future it’s all in a vc commodore gunna do a sloppy style build 78/75 you know the rest anyway if I get the 350 built are they up to the task of taking 500 rw up to maybe 700
@LatysGarage5 жыл бұрын
Blake Brewtnall haha you talk about a sloppy 78/75 build have you checked my turbo tonner build on my channel ? As for the built th350 at 500wheel it’ll probably live for a while but 700wheel I think will push it. If you haven’t built it yet I’d just get a th400 that needs a rebuild and start from there . Another option would be a power glide with the vc being nice and light the glides work very well also.
@blakebrewtnall11525 жыл бұрын
Yeah m8 certainly have seen the turbo toner build watched all your vids have asked questions about it before yep I thought that would probably rather a 400 than a glide cause it will see lots of cruising aswell as dragging look forward to the next vid m8 👍

Got an unrelated question for ya. Hope you can help. Finally found where my water leak is and ends up being the left head rear welsh plug. Absolutely pissing out now. What you think is the best way to replace? Just take head off or you think I can get to the welsh plug from dropping the auto? Thanks in advance.
@LatysGarage5 жыл бұрын
laurent gouriou l can’t tell you for sure if removing the auto and letting the engine lay back as far as possible will give you enough room to access the welsh plug . I do think there is a high chance you could get it done and it would be a lot cheaper than removing your head . Your engine has been very hot a few times now I’d be reluctant to remove the head and simply reinstall without getting the head resurfaced and possibly a new head gasket . Intake manifold gaskets, rocker cover gaskets , and exhaust manifold gaskets could all be reused as long as no damage upon inspection the head bolts could also be reused . Pulling the 4l60e/65e out from under the car is still a massive job especially for someone who has never done it I’ll give you a couple handy tips - leave the transmission yolk in trans and zip tie back so it doesn’t fall out and pour fluid everywhere. - leave converter on trans so fluid doesn’t pour everywhere. - be sure to have lots of or really long socket extensions so you can undo the upper bellhousing bolts from way back towards the back of the trans . - don’t forget all the little things like shifter linkage , dipstick , wire loom , transcooler lines Good luck mate be sure to let us know how you go
@me8u735 жыл бұрын
@@LatysGarage thanks for your help mate. very much appreciated. not sure where to go from here. I've done a dodgy repair for now and see how that goes. just shits me having to either pull the head or auto for a $5 welsh plug.

Where's the plate between the motor and transmission. Don't they use one on VZ's. hope the lack of plate is allowed for in either the flex plate or convertor design.
@LatysGarage4 жыл бұрын
Peter Brady you might be confused with adaptor plates . There is no need for adaptor plates on ls engines .
