In this video I walk through building your own cold side for a turbo intercooler on a 1969 F100 with a LS swap and a VS Racing 7875 turbo installed. Using an inexpensive Ebay universal cold side kit, I step through what I had to do to make this kit fit on the truck and work for me.

The best part of this channel is what you thought was going to be another survivor revival has now turned into a full blown hot rod build. I never saw it coming until the bed shortening when you first did it.

For sure!! I want to see this thing have some style and run around the autocross course. Its also fun to experiment with engine configurations, new products, collect real data, and share it with you guys.

Cool build but I really hate when people don’t use the manufactures engines in the manufacturers cars. Just don’t make sense to me. I would do a coyote in a Ford and a LS in a chevy and so on. It’s just never made much sense to me. Chevy trucks are cool too ! Just my opinion. Though. Still is a cool set up with the turbo

I just drilled 2 holes in the metal trim panel that it sits on, and ran 2 bolts in it, I still need to get the grill in and secure it from the top a little better....

A 90 directly off your cold air side of turbo Will decrease charge to intake. each 90 decreases laminar flow which increases turbulent flow , in short the fewer 90's the more effective the turbo and intercooler setup.looks very nice, awesome to see not all young people are self absorbed and incapable.

lol! thanks for the comment. I actually had that same thought when I was making those tight turns, but assumed that under pressure it wouldn't hold me back too much. My mind set was, I can just "increase the boost" to compensate for the tight turns...

So for those of who can't weld aluminum do we just use a lot of couplers?
@americanfamiliesfirst2790
@americanfamiliesfirst2790 3 жыл бұрын
You will probably need the extra pieces later if you decide to put v bands on your intercooler, to eliminate those couplers. But all in all looks great.

@330_garage3

Not even close. The 390, especially setup with the 10:1 compression, was much more powerful. I have 2 dyno videos on my channel where I dyno tested the 360, then swapped to a 390, and dyno'd that.
